Including Observations and Assessments in a Patient Record
3 If you want to enter free text:
a Touch the Free Text button.
The on-screen keyboard opens.
Note
If the Free Text window already contains text when you touch the Free Text button,
the Free Text window opens, You must then touch the Free Text window to open the
on-screen keyboard.
b Use the on-screen keyboard to enter up to 100 characters, then touch OK.
The Free Text window displays the text you typed.
c Touch OK in the Free Text window.
4 When you are done entering observations and assessments. touch Done.
You are returned to the main screen.
5 If your monitor has been configured to require certain vital signs measurements
(indicated by a yellow asterisk), ensure that you have captured all required vital signs,
6 Save your observations and assessments to the patient record.
- If you are operating in Spot Check monitoring mode, touch Save.
- If you are operating in Interval or Continuous monitoring mode, touch Save Now
on the main screen to save the observations and assessments—along with all
available vital signs measurements—to the patient record.
If QuickAlerts EWS is configured, a QuickAlerts advisory window opens to display
EWS scores and recommended actions. You must review this information and touch
Acknowledge in the window to finish saving the record.

Note
If you do not respond by touching Acknowledge, the window may close after 5 or 15
minutes, if configured to do so by your system administrator.
