Where 4” diameter pipe must be used, connect it to the stove ue outlet
with a 3” union-tee then use a 3” – 4” adaptor (Fig. 8).
Union-tee
The use of this type of tting must allow for the collection of condensate
mixed with soot, which builds up inside the pipe.
It must also permit periodic cleaning of the ue without the need to
disassemble the pipes.
Single or double clean-out tees may be used.
An example is given below of a ueway connection, which allows
complete cleaning without having to disassemble the pipes (Fig. 9).
