Usage Features:

  • Power ON/OFF: The unit can be turned on by pressing the SOURCE button. To turn it off, press and hold the SOURCE button.
  • Source Selection: Users can switch between Tuner, Built-in CD player, and other available sources by repeatedly pressing the SOURCE button.
  • CD Playback: Insert a CD into the loading slot, and playback will start automatically. The unit supports standard 12-cm or 8-cm CDs. Fast forward/reverse and track skipping functions are available.
  • MP3/WMA Playback: The unit can play MP3/WMA files from CDs. It displays folder and track numbers, as well as play time. Similar to CD playback, fast forward/reverse and track skipping are supported.
  • Tuner Operation:
    • Listening to the radio: Tune to desired stations manually or by seeking.
    • Introduction of advanced tuner operation: Includes functions like Local Seek (LOC) for strong signals and BSM (Best Stations Memory) for automatically storing the strongest broadcast frequencies.
    • Storing and recalling broadcast frequencies: Up to 18 FM and 6 AM stations can be stored and recalled using preset buttons.
  • Audio Adjustments:
    • Using the equalizer: A 3-band parametric equalizer (Low, Mid, High) allows for fine-tuning of sound frequencies. Six stored equalizer curves (Super Bass, Powerful, Natural, Vocal, Custom, EQ Flat) are available, and a custom curve can be created.
    • Adjusting loudness: The loudness function enhances low and high-range sounds at low volumes.
    • Using subwoofer output: Control the subwoofer output frequency range and level.
    • Adjusting subwoofer settings: Set the subwoofer output to 80 Hz (default) and adjust the level.
    • Front Image Enhancer (F.I.E.): This feature creates a simple method of enhancing the front soundstage.
    • Adjusting source levels (SLA): Adjusts the volume level of each source to prevent radical changes when switching between sources.
  • Initial Settings:
    • Adjusting initial settings: Set the clock (hours and minutes) and choose between 100 kHz or 50 kHz FM tuning steps and 9 kHz or 10 kHz AM tuning steps.
    • Setting the rear output and subwoofer controller: Configure the rear output (rear speaker leads or RCA output) as full-range speakers or subwoofer output.

Maintenance Features:

  • Protecting your unit from theft: The front panel can be detached and stored in the provided protective case to prevent theft.
  • Installing the battery (remote control): Slide out the battery tray and insert the battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  • Removing the front panel: Press the DETACH button to release the front panel, then grasp and remove it.
  • Attaching the front panel: Place the front panel flat against the head unit until it is firmly seated.
  • CD player and care:
    • Use only CDs that have either of the two Compact Disc Digital Audio marks.
    • Do not insert anything other than a CD into the CD loading slot.
    • If a disc cannot be inserted or does not play, check that the label side is up.
    • Eject the disc and check for damage before re-inserting.
    • Clean CDs with a soft cloth from the center outwards.
  • CD-R/CD-RW discs:
    • Playback is possible only for discs that have been finalized.
    • Playback may not be possible on some CD-R/CD-RW discs recorded on a computer due to disc characteristics, scratches, or dirt.
    • Playback on a personal computer may not be possible depending on settings and environment.
    • Playback may be impossible in cases of direct exposure to sunlight, high temperatures, or static electricity.
    • Titles and other text information recorded on a CD/CD-R/CD-RW disc may not be displayed by this unit.
  • WMA, MP3 and WAV files:
    • WMA is short for Windows Media™ Audio, an audio compression technology developed by Microsoft Corporation.
    • WAV is short for waveform, a standard audio file format for Windows®.
    • VBR (variable bit rate) is more widely used than CBR (constant bit rate).
    • This unit may not operate correctly depending on the application used to encode WMA files.
    • Playback may be slightly delayed when starting playback of WMA files encoded with image data.
    • The maximum number of characters for a filename is 64.
    • The maximum number of characters for a folder name is 64.
    • The maximum number of folders recorded on a CD is 256.
    • The maximum number of files recorded on a CD is 512.
    • Playback with discs with MP3/WMA/WAV files and audio data (CD-DA) such as CD-EXTRA and MIXED-MODE CDs can be switched by pressing the BAND button.
