Why is the sound muffled on my Pioneer XR-A780 Receiver?
If the sound from your Pioneer Receiver is muffled, or if a previous recording is still audible underneath the new one, there are a few potential causes. First, the tape heads may be dirty, so clean them using a head-cleaning cassette or cleaning kit. Also, ensure that you’re using a Type I (normal) or Type II (high/CrO2) tape and not Type IV (metal) tapes. Finally, if the recording was made with Dolby NR switched off, check that Dolby NR is also switched off during playback.
