5. The battery hold down bars should be snug to keep batteries from moving
while the vehicle is in motion, but not so tight as to crack or buckle the battery
case. Make sure the lynch pin is in the proper position and locked.
6. Worn insulation, frayed cables, or damaged cable ends should be replaced
immediately by a GEM factory-trained technician.
NOTE: After each use, the batteries should be charged. The batteries should
never be left discharged.
BATTERY DISPOSAL
Lead-acid batteries are recyclable. Return whole scrap batteries to distributor,
manufacturer or lead smelter for recycling. For neutralized spills, place
residue in acid-resistant containers with absorbent material, sand or earth and
dispose of in accordance with local, state and federal regulations for acid and
lead compounds. Contact local and/or state environmental ofcials regarding
disposal information. You can also contact Customer Service at 866-764-0616
for information.
WARNING
If baery cable terminals are damaged or corroded, they should be replaced or
cleaned as necessary. Failure to do so may cause them to overheat during opera-
on, possibly leading to re which may result in death or serious injury.
