What to do if my Polaris Offroad Vehicle engine turns over but fails to start?
- JJoe DeanAug 12, 2025
If your Polaris Offroad Vehicle's engine turns over but fails to start, the issue could stem from several causes. First, ensure you have fuel in the tank by refueling if necessary. Other potential causes include a clogged fuel filter (in which case you should see your dealer), water in the fuel (drain and refuel), or using old or non-recommended fuel (replace with fresh, recommended fuel). Also, inspect the spark plugs for fouling or defects and replace if needed. Check for spark at the spark plug, and recharge the battery to 12.8 VDC if the voltage is low. Inspect and tighten any loose ignition connections. If water or fuel is present in the crankcase, immediately see your dealer. Mechanical failure can also be a cause, requiring dealer assistance.
