OPERATION
Starting The Engine
If The Engine Does Not Start
If the engine does not start within 10 seconds, release the starter
switch. Wait 10 seconds before trying again to avoid damaging the
starter.
Depending on your model, either pull the choke lever out or push
choke lever in a clockwise direction. If the engine is already warm do
not use the choke. If the engine does not start after several attempts see
the troubleshooting section of this manual beginning on page 134.
NOTE: Direct Injected models are not equipped with a manual choke.
Be seated and alert when starting the watercraft. Starting the
engine immediately generates forward thrust which could cause
the operator to fall from the machine causing serious injury or
death.
WARNING
Do not depress the starter switch while the engine is running or
while the starter is still spinning. This causes starter wear and
may cause the starter to fail.
