The Poly Studio P15 is a personal video bar designed to enhance video conferencing experiences. It integrates a camera, speaker, and microphones into a single device, making it a comprehensive solution for personal workspaces. The device is intended for a range of users, from beginners to advanced, who want to leverage its features for improved audio and video quality in virtual meetings.
The Poly Studio P15 serves as an all-in-one audio and video peripheral for computers, connecting via a USB cable. Its primary function is to provide high-quality video and audio for video calls and conferences. The integrated camera captures video, while the speaker provides audio output, and the microphones capture speech. The device is designed to work seamlessly with various conferencing applications, allowing users to set it as their default audio and video device.
Video Conferencing Enhancement: The P15 is equipped with features to optimize video calls. It includes a camera that can be positioned to ensure the user's face appears in the middle of the video stream, with eyes level with the top third of the screen. The device supports various operating systems, including Windows 10 and 11, macOS versions 10.15, 11, and 12, and Chrome OS, though some high resolutions may have limitations on Chromebooks.
Privacy Shutter: A built-in physical privacy shutter allows users to block the camera lens when not in use, ensuring privacy. The shutter can be manually rotated counterclockwise to open (indicated by an illuminated LED) and clockwise to close.

Tips for Great Video Conferences: The user guide provides several tips for optimizing video conferences with the P15:
Poly Lens Desktop App Integration: While the device can be used without additional software, the Poly Lens Desktop App (not supported on Chromebooks) unlocks advanced configuration settings and features. This application allows users to customize and manage their device settings.
Restarting the Device: If issues arise, users can restart the Poly Studio P15 by simply unplugging and replugging the power cable. This powers off and restarts the device, often resolving minor glitches. After a restart, users may need to reselect the device as the default audio and video device in their conferencing software.
Factory Reset: A factory reset option is available to restore the device to its original factory settings. This process erases all user data and settings. It involves locating a reset pinhole on the bottom of the device, pressing and holding the reset button with a paperclip until the LED indicator changes to breathing amber, then transitions to breathing white as the device restarts. The reset is complete when the pulsing white LED turns off and an audible tone sounds.
Factory Restore: For more severe issues or an unresponsive device, a factory restore can be performed. This process completely erases the system's flash memory and restores the device to its factory software version. It involves unplugging the power, inserting a paperclip into the reset pinhole, holding the reset button, reconnecting the power supply, and continuing to hold the button for 3 seconds. The device LED pulses amber during the restore, then transitions to breathing white while restarting, finally returning to solid white.
Firmware Updates: The Poly Studio P15 supports firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and access to new features. Updates can be downloaded automatically through Microsoft Windows updates or Chromebook updates. For macOS users, or for manual updates, the Poly Lens Desktop App is required. The Poly Lens Desktop App notifies users when a firmware update is available, guiding them through the process.
