Overview

This document is a user guide for the FunSicle Oasis Pool, a spacious and luxurious above-ground pool designed for outdoor recreation. It provides comprehensive instructions for setting up, maintaining, and enjoying the pool, along with important safety guidelines and warranty information.

Function Description

The FunSicle Oasis Pool is an above-ground swimming pool designed to provide a recreational swimming experience. It features a metal frame structure that supports a durable pool liner, creating a contained body of water for swimming and wading. The pool is intended for residential use and offers a complete "all-in-one" experience, suggesting it comes with necessary components for immediate enjoyment. Optional accessories, such as a SkimmerPlus Filter Pump, SureStep Ladder, Pool Cover, and Ground Cloth, enhance the pool's functionality and user experience. The SkimmerPlus Filter Pump, if included, is responsible for circulating and filtering the pool water, ensuring clarity and cleanliness. The pool's design emphasizes ease of setup and maintenance, making it accessible for home use.

Usage Features

The FunSicle Oasis Pool is designed for straightforward assembly and use. The setup process involves preparing a level, stable, and compact site, free from obstructions and potential hazards like overhead electrical lines or trees. The pool frame is assembled by connecting horizontal beams with T-fittings, which are then integrated with the pool liner. Vertical legs, inserted into leg caps, provide structural support and are secured to the T-fittings. The guide emphasizes the importance of ensuring the pool is level during initial water filling to prevent distortion and ensure proper functionality.

Once the frame is assembled and the liner is in place, the pool is partially filled with about an inch of water to allow for smoothing out wrinkles in the liner. This step is crucial for a wrinkle-free fit, which is aided by allowing the liner to warm in direct sunlight for a couple of hours prior to installation to increase its pliability. After this initial fill, the vertical legs are gently tugged outwards to ensure they are perpendicular to the ground, correcting any leaning.

The installation of the filtration system, if included, involves attaching suction and return fittings to the pool wall before the main filling process. The SkimmerPlus Filter Pump, detailed in a separate user guide, is then installed to maintain water quality. The pool is filled to approximately 6 inches below the top rim, with a warning against overfilling, especially during heavy rain.

Safety is a paramount usage feature, with extensive warnings and guidelines provided. Users are cautioned against diving, jumping, or roughhousing in the shallow water. Constant adult supervision of children, especially those under five, is stressed to prevent drowning. The guide advises against leaving children unattended, using the pool under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and playing near drains or suction fittings to avoid entrapment. It also recommends installing a pool fence and removing the ladder when the pool is not in use to prevent unauthorized access. Electrical safety is highlighted, with instructions to keep electrical appliances away from the pool and ensure proper grounding for the filter pump.

Maintenance Features

Maintaining the FunSicle Oasis Pool involves several key aspects to ensure its longevity and safe operation. Water clarity and chemical balance are crucial, requiring periodic checks of pH and chlorine levels and the addition of appropriate water treatment chemicals. The filter pump, if used, should be operated for recommended hours daily, and filter cartridges need frequent cleaning and replacement with genuine Funsicle Brand cartridges.

For storage, the pool must be thoroughly drained, disassembled, and all parts completely dried to prevent mold and mildew. The liner should be air-dried in the sun and sprinkled with talcum powder to prevent sticking. Specific folding instructions are provided to compact the liner for storage. All components should be stored in a dry, temperature-controlled environment, ideally between 32°F (0°C) and 104°F (40°C). The original packaging can be reused for storage.

Repairing minor leaks is also covered. A simple method involves spraying a mix of liquid dish soap and water over suspicious areas to identify leaks by the presence of bubbles. Once a leak is located, the area should be cleaned, and a repair patch (included) applied. The patch should be larger than the damaged area, with rounded corners, and pressed firmly to remove air bubbles. For more stubborn repairs, silicone- or polyurethane-based glue designed for camping mats or tents can be used with the patch.

Winterizing the pool is essential in colder climates where temperatures drop below 32°F (0°C). The pool must be drained, disassembled, and stored indoors to prevent ice damage, as leaving it set up in freezing temperatures voids the warranty. In warmer environments, if the pool is left up, specific steps include thoroughly cleaning the water, removing the skimmer and other accessories, unplugging fittings, removing the ladder, adding appropriate winterizing chemicals, covering the pool, and cleaning and storing the pump, filter housing, and hoses indoors. The pool cover, if used, is explicitly stated not to be a safety cover.
