This document describes the Powerplus POWDPG7541 Grass Trimmer 20V 250mm, a cordless power tool designed for trimming and finishing lawn edges, and for cutting grass in confined spaces. It is intended for consumer use only and is not suitable for professional applications. The device is part of the DUAL POWER system, indicating compatibility with a range of 20V/40V batteries and chargers.
Function Description
The grass trimmer operates using a 20V Li-ion battery, providing cordless convenience for lawn maintenance. Its primary function is to cut grass with a nylon line, which is automatically fed to the correct length during operation. The trimmer head can be adjusted to four different cutting angles, allowing for versatile use around flower beds, bushes, trees, and fence posts. A steel wire flower guard helps protect delicate plants from the cutting line. The device also features an adjustable auxiliary handle and an extendable shaft for ergonomic use.

Usage Features
The grass trimmer is designed for ease of use and optimal performance when following specific instructions:
- Switching On/Off: To start, press the lock-off button (1) and then the ON/OFF switch (2). To turn off, release the ON/OFF switch. A safety note warns that the nylon line will continue to rotate for a few seconds after switching off.
- Height Adjustment (Fig. 3): The extension shaft (6) can be adjusted in length by rotating and loosening the extension lock knob (5), then extending or retracting the tube. Tighten the knob to secure the desired height.
- Auxiliary Handle Adjustment (Fig. 4): The auxiliary handle (3) can be positioned for comfortable grip by loosening its adjustment knob (4) and the long screw, then re-tightening.
- Cutting Angle Adjustment (Fig. 5): The trimmer head has four adjustable positions. To change the angle, press the head angle button (7) and move the motor block to the desired position, then release the button. The handle (20) can also be turned left or right to set the desired trimming angle.
- Line Replacement (Fig. 6): To replace the spool and line, press the sides of the spool cover (13) and remove it. Remove the empty spool and thread the ends of the new line spool through the eyelets in the spool receptacle. Reinstall the spool cover. The line will automatically be cut to the correct length upon restarting the trimmer. It is crucial to only use the manufacturer-recommended line type and to replace the entire spool rather than winding extra line onto an empty one, as this can damage the trimmer and void the warranty.
- Manual Line Lengthening: The line can be manually extended by pressing and releasing the manual extension wire button while gently pulling the wire until it reaches the cutter. The line is too long if it extends beyond the cutter level.
- Optimal Trimming: For best results, avoid cutting wet grass, move the trimmer side-to-side at an angle of approximately 30° while walking forward, and make several passes for long grass. Keep the trimmer away from hard objects to prevent unnecessary line wear.
Maintenance Features
The grass trimmer is designed for long-term operation with minimal maintenance, but proper care and regular cleaning are essential for satisfactory performance:
- Regular Cleaning:
- Clean the ventilation slots of the tool regularly with a soft brush or dry cloth.
- Clean the cutting line and spool regularly with a soft brush or dry cloth.
- Use a blunt scraper regularly to remove grass and dirt from the underside of the protective guard.
- Storage:
- Store the trimmer out of reach of children, in a stable, safe, and dry place, away from extreme temperatures (neither too hot nor too cold).
- Store away from direct sunlight, preferably in a dark or dimly lit place.
- Avoid storing in a nylon bag, as this can encourage damp patches.
- Do not store the grass trimmer resting on the floor. Instead, hang it by the handgrip so that the guard does not touch any surface. Resting the guard on a surface could alter its shape, dimensions, and safety characteristics.
- Battery Care:
- Never attempt to open the battery.
- Store batteries in a cool, dry place (5°C-20°C) and never in a discharged state.
- Charge batteries only at ambient temperatures between 4°C and 40°C.
- For long-term storage, Li-ion batteries should be regularly discharged and recharged (at least 4 times a year), with an ideal charge level of 40% capacity.
- If the battery is hot after continuous use, allow it to cool down to room temperature before charging to extend battery life.
- Avoid short-circuiting battery contacts and do not incinerate batteries.
- Charger Care:
- Never attempt to charge non-rechargeable batteries.
- Replace defective cords immediately.
- Do not expose the charger to water or open it.
- The charger is intended for indoor use only.
- Repairs: Repairs should only be carried out by qualified personnel using identical replacement parts to ensure the safety of the tool.
Safety Warnings
The manual emphasizes several safety warnings, including:
- Always read the manual before use.
- Wear protective shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection.
- Maintain a minimum distance of 15m from the machine during operation.
- Never operate the machine in rain or damp conditions.
- Wear a dust mask in dusty conditions.
- Do not expose the charger or battery pack to water or incinerate them.
- Use the battery and charger only in closed rooms.
- Remove the battery pack before making any adjustments or maintenance.
- Never use the grass trimmer without the protective guard.
- Be aware that the nylon line continues to rotate for a few seconds after switching off.
- Do not wind extra line onto an empty spool; always replace it with a new, identical one.
