What to do if Predator 60622 Lawn and Garden Equipment engine stops suddenly?
    • J
      John MortonAug 16, 2025
If the engine stops suddenly, it could be due to several reasons: the fuel tank is empty or contains impure fuel or an improper fuel mix, the fuel tank cap is defective, causing a vacuum, the idle speed is improper, or there's incorrect timing or a clogged carburetor. Here's what you can do: * Empty the old fuel and fill the tank with a fresh 25:1 ratio of 90+ octane unleaded gasoline and 2-cycle oil mixture. * Test or replace the fuel tank cap. * Properly adjust the idle speed. * If these steps don't work, have a qualified technician diagnose and service the engine.

Why does Predator 60622 engine misfire?
    • S
      Shane ThompsonAug 21, 2025
An engine misfire can occur due to a loose spark plug wire, an incorrect spark plug gap or a damaged spark plug, a defective spark plug wire, old or low-quality gasoline, or incorrect compression. To address this, check the wire connections, correct the spark plug gap or replace the spark plug, replace the spark plug wire, use fresh 25:1 ratio of 90+ octane unleaded gasoline and 2-cycle oil mixture. If it's a compression issue, diagnose and repair the compression, referring to the 'Engine will not start: COMPRESSION RELATED' section.

Why Predator 60622 Lawn and Garden Equipment engine knocks?
    • K
      Kathleen RothAug 25, 2025
The engine might be knocking because the fuel tank is empty or contains impure, low-quality gasoline or an improper fuel/oil mix, the engine is overloaded, or there's incorrect spark timing, deposit buildup, a worn engine, or other mechanical problems. To address this, empty the old fuel and fill the tank with a fresh 25:1 ratio of 90+ octane unleaded gasoline and 2-cycle oil mixture. Also, do not exceed the equipment’s load rating. For issues related to spark timing, deposit buildup, or other mechanical problems, have a qualified technician diagnose and service the engine.

What to do if Predator 60622 auger rotates while engine is idle?
    • J
      Jennifer JohnsonAug 28, 2025
If the auger rotates while the engine is idling, it's likely because the engine idle speed is set too high. Reset the carburetor Idle Screw to lower the idle (RPM) speed.

What to do if Predator 60622 Lawn and Garden Equipment bit is not rotating when engine runs?
    • S
      scottmendozaSep 4, 2025
If the engine runs but the bit is not rotating, it could be due to the throttle not being properly used, the throttle cable not being properly adjusted or the bit being stuck in rocks, roots, etc. Make sure to fully squeeze the Throttle. If that doesn't work, have a qualified service technician adjust the Throttle cable. Also, remove the Bit from the hole and clear the hole of obstructions.

Why Predator 60622 Lawn and Garden Equipment engine will not start?
    • D
      David RodriguezNov 12, 2025
There are several reasons why the engine might not start. It could be fuel-related, such as low or no fuel, an improper fuel/oil mixture, using old gasoline, a carburetor that isn't primed, dirty fuel passageways, a stuck carburetor needle, too much fuel in the chamber, or a blocked fuel cap or filter. Alternatively, it could be ignition-related, like a disconnected spark plug wire, a dirty or wet spark plug, an incorrect spark plug gap, or a broken spark plug or wire. Finally, it could be compression-related, such as a cylinder that isn't lubricated, a loose or broken spark plug, or a loose cylinder head or damaged head gasket. To resolve fuel issues, fill the fuel tank with a 25:1 mixture of unleaded gasoline and 2-cycle oil, close the choke if the engine is cold, use fresh fuel, prime...
