The Premier Pet™ In-Ground Add-A-Dog® system (model GIG00-16350) is a pet containment solution designed to act as a deterrent, reminding pets via static correction to remain within an established boundary. This product is intended for use with dogs where training is desired and is not suitable for aggressive dogs. It is crucial to reinforce training with your pet regularly, as the system is not a solid barrier and cannot guarantee containment for all pets.
Function Description:
The In-Ground Add-A-Dog system utilizes a receiver collar that delivers static corrections to a pet when it approaches or crosses a defined boundary. The collar is designed to be worn comfortably by the pet, with contact points positioned against the skin to ensure effective correction. The system includes multiple static correction levels, allowing owners to adjust the intensity based on their pet's temperament and training needs. A tone-only mode is also available for initial training or as a warning before correction. The receiver collar is powered by a replaceable battery, designed for ease of replacement and increased water protection.
Users are advised to read and understand all safety warnings and cautions provided in the manual. The safety alert symbol (!) indicates potential personal injury hazards.
- WARNING: Indicates a hazardous situation that could result in death or serious injury. This product should not be used with aggressive dogs, as they can cause severe injury or death. Batteries pose a risk of explosion if replaced incorrectly, short-circuited, mixed with old/new batteries, exposed to fire, or water. Used batteries must be disposed of properly and protected from shorting.
- CAUTION (with safety alert symbol): Indicates a hazardous situation that could result in minor or moderate injury.
- CAUTION (without safety alert symbol): Indicates a hazardous situation that could result in harm to your pet.
- The In-Ground Fence system is not a solid barrier, and its effectiveness depends on consistent training. Radio Systems Corporation cannot guarantee containment in all cases and is not liable for property damage or consequential damages if an animal crosses the boundary.
- Proper collar fit is essential to prevent skin damage (bed sores). The collar should not be worn for more than 12 hours per day, and its position on the pet's neck should be rechecked every 1-2 hours.
- Never shave the dog's neck, as this can lead to rash or infection. Trimming hair around contact points may be necessary.
- Do not connect a leash to a collar with contact points, as this causes excessive pressure. If using a leash, attach it to a separate collar.
- Regularly clean the dog's neck area and collar contact points with a damp cloth.
- Examine the contact area daily for signs of rash or sores. Discontinue use if a rash or sore is found and consult a veterinarian if it persists beyond 48 hours.
- During the first two weeks of training, direct supervision of the pet is required.
- Always remove the receiver collar before performing transmitter testing or adjustments to prevent unintended corrections.
- The boundary width must be tested after any adjustments to prevent unintended corrections.
- Do not use the system with an outlet protected by a Residual Current Device (RCD) or Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI), as lightning strikes may trip these devices, causing the system to lose power and potentially allowing the pet to escape.
