The Prestigio RoadRunner 370GPS is a compact DVR designed for recording road situations and geo-positioning, thanks to its built-in GPS module. It also provides timely warnings about cameras, radars, and other control devices on the road using a built-in database of video cameras.

Function Description

The device offers several key functions:

  • Video Recording: Records high-quality video in Full HD (1920x1080) at 30 frames per second, both day and night, covering up to 5 lanes of traffic with a 140° viewing angle.
  • GPS Module: Records geo-positioning data alongside video, allowing for precise location tracking. It also provides visual and audible notifications about approaching control points (cameras, radars) based on its built-in database.
  • G-sensor (Shock Sensor): Automatically saves and protects video of accidents from being overwritten when triggered by a collision, jolt, or emergency braking.
  • Motion Sensor: Can be configured to automatically start recording when motion is detected in the frame and stop when motion ceases.
  • Parking Mode: When enabled, the device switches to parking monitor mode after being turned off, activated by the G-sensor.
  • Screenshot Function: Allows users to take a screenshot during video recording by pressing a dedicated button.
  • File Management: Supports viewing, deleting, and locking/unlocking recorded video and photo files.
  • Battery Backup: The built-in rechargeable battery ensures that the last video recording is terminated and saved correctly when external power is disconnected.

Usage Features

  • Installation: The device is installed on the windshield using a suction cup holder. It's recommended to choose a location that doesn't obstruct the driver's view or interfere with airbag deployment, ideally in the middle of the windshield next to the rearview mirror. The cable should be routed along the ceiling and front pillar to avoid obstructing the driver's view and interfering with airbags.
  • Memory Card: A micro-SD card (class 10 or higher, 8 GB to 32 GB) is required for video recording. The card should be formatted to FAT32 before first use. It's crucial to insert or remove the memory card only when the device is powered off to prevent damage.
  • Power and Charging: The DVR automatically turns on and starts recording when connected to a car's cigarette lighter socket. The built-in battery can be charged via the car charger or a USB port (5V, at least 500mA). A red LED indicates charging, and a green LED indicates a full charge.
  • Operation Modes: The device supports video recording mode, camera mode (for taking photos), and file viewing mode.
  • Settings Configuration: Users can access the settings menu to adjust various parameters, including video resolution (FHD/HD), cyclic recording duration (1/3/5 min or off), audio recording (enable/disable), display of marks on video (date, time, brand, license plate), date and time settings, automatic shutdown time, screen disabling time, button beep sound, volume level, interface language, screen refresh rate (50/60 Hz), turn off delay (10/15/60 s), G-sensor sensitivity (high/medium/low), parking mode (enable/disable), and exposure compensation.
  • GPS Functionality: The GPS connection is established automatically. It provides accurate date and time synchronization, displays current traffic speed on video, and records geographical coordinates, which can be useful for pinpointing accident locations or finding specific video fragments. The device warns about cameras and radars at adjustable distances (400m-700m initially, then 250m before the camera).
  • PC Connection: Saved video and photo files can be viewed or copied to a PC by connecting the DVR via a micro-USB cable. The device will be recognized as an external hard drive.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning: The device should be periodically cleaned of dirt and dust with a dry, soft cloth. It must be turned off before cleaning. The camera lens should be cleaned regularly. Avoid using water or corrosive liquids on the lens.
  • Handling: Protect the device from excessive force and shock to prevent damage or malfunction. Do not touch the screen surface with sharp objects or apply excessive pressure.
  • Temperature and Humidity: Avoid exposing the unit to sudden temperature fluctuations that could cause condensation. Temperature and humidity fluctuations can also cause the suction cup to detach from the glass.
  • Storage: If the device is not used for an extended period, fully charge the battery every two weeks.
  • Repairs: Any malfunctions should lead to immediate discontinuation of use, and the device should be taken to a Prestigio Authorized Service Center. Do not attempt to repair the device yourself.
  • Recycling: At the end of its service life, the device, its batteries, and electrical/electronic accessories must be disposed of separately from unsorted municipal waste, in accordance with WEEE regulations. It should be returned to a point of sale, a local recycling facility, or other designated collection points. The packaging is made from recyclable materials.
