Data Transmission

Binary Data Transmission

Handles sending and receiving binary data, requiring special care for specific characters.

Commands

Address Configuration (addr)

Configures or queries the GPIB address, with optional secondary address support.

Automatic Read (auto)

Enables/disables Read-After-Write feature, controlling automatic instrument talk after commands.

Device Clear (clr)

Sends the Selected Device Clear (SDC) message to the specified GPIB address.

End of Command Indicator (eoi)

Enables/disables EOI signal assertion with the last character for command termination.

GPIB Termination Characters (eos)

Specifies GPIB termination characters (CR+LF, CR, LF, or None) for data transmission.

EOI Detection Character (eot_enable)

Enables/disables appending a user-specified character when EOI is detected during reading.

EOI Detection Character Specification (eot_char)

Specifies the character to append to USB output when EOI is detected and eot_enable is set.

Interface Clear (ifc)

Asserts the GPIB IFC signal, making the Prologix controller the Controller-In-Charge.

Local Operation (loc)

Enables front panel operation of the currently addressed instrument.

Listen-Only Mode (lon)

Configures the controller for listen-only mode on the GPIB bus, allowing receive only.

Mode Configuration (mode)

Configures the controller to operate in CONTROLLER or DEVICE mode.

Read Data (read)

Reads data from an instrument until EOI, specific character, or timeout occurs.

Read Timeout Setting (read_tmo_ms)

Specifies the timeout value in milliseconds for read and spoll commands.

Reset Controller (rst)

Performs a power-on reset of the controller, ignoring USB input during the process.

Save Configuration (savecfg)

Enables/disables automatic saving of configuration parameters to EPROM.

Serial Poll (spoll)

Performs a serial poll of the instrument at the specified or currently addressed address.

SRQ Status (srq)

Returns the current state of the GPIB SRQ signal (asserted or not asserted).

Status Byte Configuration (status)

Specifies the device status byte returned during serial polling.

Group Execute Trigger (trg)

Issues Group Execute Trigger command to specified or currently addressed instruments.
