The Pulsar PTG1221SE is a gas-powered lawn mower designed for cutting lawn areas in private houses and hobby gardens. It is intended for its prescribed purpose and any other use is considered misuse, with the user/operator being liable for any resulting damage or injuries. The machine is not designed for commercial, trade, or industrial applications, and its warranty will be voided if used for such purposes. The lawn mower features a self-propelled system, allowing it to move with the engine running when the drive lever (clutch lever) is pressed. It offers three functions: rear discharging, rear bagging, and mulching, which can be converted by changing accessory settings. A side discharge chute is also available for side discharging.
The lawn mower is equipped with a single-cylinder, 4-stroke engine with a displacement of 196 CC. It has a maximum power output of 3.8KW at 2800 RPM, with an engine speed of 2800 RPM. Cleaning the lawn mower thoroughly after each use is recommended, ensuring no grass cuttings or debris accumulate on the surfaces, which could impair mowing operation. The grass chute and underside of the mower deck should be checked and cleared of any residue. When cleaning the underside, the mower should be tilted onto its left side (opposite the oil filler neck) after fully draining the fuel tank.
Spark plug maintenance involves removing, cleaning with a wire brush, and setting the gap to 0.75mm using a feeler gauge before reinstalling. Air filter service includes removing the outer cover, separating the filter from its housing, cleaning with warm water and mild soap, and allowing it to dry thoroughly before re-installation. Pressurized air or solvents should not be used to clean the filter.
Engine oil changes involve tilting the mower, draining the old oil, and refilling with 17 oz./500ml of SAE30 oil (or equivalent). The oil level should be checked using the dipstick, ensuring it is between the min and max marks.
Blade replacement or sharpening should be performed by an authorized service workshop for safety and optimum results, ideally once a year. Users are warned to wear garden gloves and use a spanner wrench for blade removal, and not to hold the blade with bare hands. The engine must be stopped, and the blade must come to a complete stop before any maintenance work.
For storage, short periods (less than 15 days) require allowing the engine to cool, emptying the grass bag, cleaning debris from the mower deck, and storing it upright in a safe place. For extended periods (more than 15 days), the fuel tank must be emptied using a suction pump, the engine run until all fuel is used, the engine oil changed, cooling fins and housing cleaned, and the machine stored in a well-ventilated place. The spark plug boot should be removed during storage.
