Why is my Qualcast GDB30B Brush Cutter engine not starting?
    • J
      Justin GardnerAug 2, 2025
If your Qualcast Brush Cutter engine isn't starting, several factors could be the reason. It could be due to an empty fuel tank, in which case you should fill it up. Another possibility is a flooded engine; try closing the throttle and pulling the cord several times, and if that doesn't work, remove and dry the spark plug. A fouled spark plug (with carbon on the electrodes) could also be the culprit, so clean it, check its temperature, and replace it if necessary. Also, check the electrode gap and adjust it to 0.6-0.7 mm if it's too large. A fouled carburetor or its jets might be the issue; clean the carburetor with air. Finally, a damaged spark plug or its connection could be the cause, requiring you to replace the spark plug.

What to do if my Qualcast GDB30B engine does not reach its maximum speed?
    • K
      Kara BoltonNov 8, 2025
If your Qualcast Brush Cutter engine isn't reaching its maximum speed, several issues could be responsible. A fouled spark plug or a spark gap that's too large could be the problem; in this case, clean the spark plug, check its temperature, and replace it if needed, and adjust the gap to 0.6-0.7 mm. A fouled carburetor or its jets could also be the cause, so clean the carburetor with air. Other potential causes include a fouled air filter (clean it), a blocked exhaust or exhaust channel (remove the exhaust and clean it, removing any carbon deposits), a sealing ring in the crankcase that isn't sealing properly (replace it), or worn cylinders, pistons, and piston rings (replace these components, reface the cylinder and piston, and reassemble). Also, check that you are using the correct fuel ...
