Why won't my Qualcast QJB26 engine start?

  The Qualcast Trimmer engine might not be starting due to several reasons: the fuel tank could be empty, so fill it up. Alternatively, the engine might be flooded; in that case, close the throttle and pull the cord several times, and if needed, remove and dry the spark plug. A fouled spark plug with carbon deposits, an electrode gap that's too large, or a fouled carburetor could also be the cause. Lastly, check for a damaged spark plug connection or a damaged spark plug; replacing the spark plug may be necessary.

  If your Qualcast Trimmer engine isn't reaching its maximum speed, several factors could be responsible. Start by checking the spark plug for fouling or an excessively large gap, cleaning or replacing it and adjusting the gap to 0.6-0.7 mm. A dirty carburetor or air filter can also restrict performance, so clean them. Other potential issues include a blocked exhaust, a faulty sealing ring in the crankcase, worn cylinders, pistons, or piston rings, an incorrect fuel mix (too much oil), or a bad ignition. Address each of these possibilities to restore optimal engine speed.
