EQUIPMENT SUPPLY
Connect the positive terminal of the charge source (alternator or battery charger) to the input point of the char-
ge separator (+IN).
Connect the positive terminal of the battery or battery group to one of the output points of the charge separator.
If there are two batteries or battery groups, we recommend always using the output points + A OUT and + B OUT.
Connect the negative of the charge source and of the battery to the same bracket.
The IG terminal can be used to start up the electronics in modern alternators. When switching on, these alterna-
tors require some voltage on the Input to start operation.
When using an alternator, connect the charge separator IG terminal to the alternator IG terminal.
Make the connections as in figure:
OPERATION
The instrument starts to divide the charge as soon as the charge source (switched on) is connected to the input
point.
When the charge source is switched on and connected to the input, the POWER led (green) lights up, indicating
that the device is functioning.
WARNING: if the power led is off, the instrument behaves like a traditional diode charge separator (with
low efficiency and high development of heat). Working under these conditions can damage the device.
