INSTALLING/REPLACING THE BATTERY
The module is powered by one 9-volt battery. For the longest operation, we rec-
ommend you use an alkaline battery (Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-553). Even if you
use an optional AC adapter, install a battery to keep the information in the mod-
ule’s memory during power failures. When the battery low indicator ( ) ap-
pears in the top left corner of the display or the display dims, replace the battery.
Follow these steps to install the battery.
Caution:
Be sure to keep one fresh 9 volt battery on hand when you replace the
battery. You need to replace the battery within 20 seconds (before the display
blanks out) after you remove the old battery in Step 3. Otherwise, the information
kept in the module’s memory is lost.
1. If you are replacing the battery, unplug the module from the telephone line.
2. Slide off the battery compartment cover.
3. Remove the old battery, if necessary.
