File
Specification
The only way
to store
information
on a diskette
is
to put it
in a disk
file.
Afterwards,
that information
can
be retrieved via
the file
name
you gave
the file
when you created
or renamed
it.
A file specification
has the
general
form:
filename
ext. password

filename
consists
of a letter
followed
by
up to
seven optional
letters
or numbers.
ext
is an optional
name-extension:
ext is
a
sequence of
up
to
three
letters or
numbers,
starting
with
a letter.
password is an
optional
password;
password
is
a sequence
of up
to
eight letters
or numbers,
starting
with
a letter.
rfis an optional
disk-drive
specification,

is one
of the digits

can be no blank
spaces
inside
a file
specification,
trsdos
terminates
the file specification
at the first
blank
space.
