R8FM
(FHSS)
Radiolink R8FM, 2.4G 8 channels receiver, 2.5-gram weight, SBUS and PPM signal support, use for
Radiolink transmitter T8FB, is the best choice for racing drone.
Two signal working mode:
Blue/purple LED, S-BUS signal, 8 channels totally.
Red LED, PPM signal, 8 channels totally.
S-BUS and PPM signal change:
Quick press the ID SET switch twice within 1 second, the signal is changed from S-BUS to PPM.
The red LED indicates the PPM and blue/purple indicates S-BUS.
How to match code with transmitter:
1. Put the transmitter and the receiver close to each other within 1 meter.
2. Turn on the transmitter, then power on the R8FM.
3. There is a black button on the R8FM, press the binding button in one second until the receiver
light starts blinking and release, after about 8 times blinking, match code success when receiver
signal LED always on.
Installment of receiver antenna:
1. The antenna must be kept as straight as possible. Otherwise it will reduce the effective range.

Overview

The Radiolink R8FM is a compact 2.4G 8-channel receiver designed primarily for racing drones, compatible with the Radiolink T8FB transmitter. It supports both SBUS and PPM signals, offering flexibility for various setups.

Function Description

The R8FM receiver facilitates wireless communication between a transmitter and a drone, translating control signals into actions. It operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency band and utilizes FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) technology for robust and reliable signal transmission.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Channels: 8 channels
  • Working Voltage: 4.8-6V
  • Working Current: 30mA (at 5V input voltage)
  • Size: 16.0 x 21.5 x 1.0mm
  • Weight: 2.5g
  • Precision: 2048 section precision, 0.5us per section, with servo anti-shake rudder capability.
  • Control Distance: Approximately 2000 meters in open air, though actual control distance is dependent on the environment.
  • Signal Support: SBUS and PPM

Usage Features

Two Signal Working Modes

The R8FM offers two distinct signal output modes, indicated by an LED:

  • Blue/Purple LED: Indicates SBUS signal output, providing 8 channels in total.
  • Red LED: Indicates PPM signal output, also providing 8 channels in total.

S-BUS and PPM Signal Change

Users can easily switch between SBUS and PPM signal modes by quickly pressing the "ID SET" switch twice within one second. The LED color will change accordingly (red for PPM, blue/purple for SBUS) to confirm the mode.

How to Match Code with Transmitter (Binding)

  1. Proximity: Place the transmitter and the R8FM receiver close to each other, ideally within 1 meter.
  2. Power On: Turn on the transmitter first, then power on the R8FM receiver.
  3. Binding Process: Locate the black binding button on the R8FM. Press this button for one second until the receiver's LED light starts blinking. Release the button.
  4. Confirmation: After approximately 8 blinks, the binding process is successful when the receiver's signal LED remains constantly on.

Maintenance Features

Installation of Receiver Antenna

Proper antenna installation is crucial for maximizing the receiver's effective range and signal integrity.

  1. Straight Alignment: The antenna should be kept as straight as possible. Bending it can significantly reduce its effective range.
  2. Placement in Large Models: For large model aircraft that may contain metal parts interfering with the signal, the antenna should be positioned at the side of the model to minimize obstruction.
  3. Avoid Conductive Materials: The antenna must be kept at least half an inch away from conductive materials such as metal and carbon. While the coaxial part of the antenna does not strictly need to follow these guidelines, it should not be bent into a small radius.
  4. Distance from Noise Sources: Keep the antenna as far as possible from potential noise sources, including the motor, Electronic Speed Controller (ESC), and other electronic components that might generate interference.
  5. Shock Protection: To protect the receiver from shocks and vibrations during operation, it can be packed with sponge or foam when installed into the model.

After completing all the installation and setup steps, the receiver's functions should be programmed to ensure proper control from the transmitter.
