Overview

The RAEV Bullet PRO/GT is an electric bicycle designed for various riding modes and ease of use. This user manual provides comprehensive instructions for assembly, operation, maintenance, and safety precautions.

Function Description

The RAEV Bullet PRO/GT serves as a versatile electric bicycle, offering three distinct riding modes: EV mode, assistant mode, and manual riding mode. It is equipped with a motor to provide electric assistance, a battery for power, and a gearbox for mechanical gear changes. The bicycle features a headlamp for visibility, a taillight, and front and rear disc brakes for safety. An LCD display provides essential riding information such as speed, mileage, gear indication, and power status.

Usage Features

Assembly and Setup: The manual details a straightforward installation process. Users begin by installing the handlebar, which involves removing pre-tightened screws, adjusting the handlebar to a suitable angle, and then tightening the screws in a specific order (1, 2, 3, 4). The front wheel installation requires aligning the front disc with the gateway lining, inserting the front axle into the fork axle hole, and securing it with gaskets and cap nuts using a 15mm open spanner. Pedal installation is crucial, with clear instructions to differentiate between left (L) and right (R) pedals. The left pedal is rotated anticlockwise, and the right pedal clockwise, using a 15mm open spanner, ensuring the pedal bolt end face is vertical to the crank's mounting hole. The headlamp installation involves taking accessories from the box, installing the fixed support, adjusting the angle, tightening screws with a 5mm socket head wrench, and connecting the line. Battery installation and removal are also covered: insert the key, rotate to ON, place the battery until a crisp sound is heard, then rotate the key to LOCK and pull it out.

Charging: Charging the battery is a simple process. Users open the soft cover on the battery side, insert the charger plug into the charging port, and connect the other plug to the power supply. The charger's status light will be red during charging and turn green when fully charged. It is recommended to remove the charger, store it properly, and close the soft cover after charging. If charging the battery while it is on the bicycle, the instrument should be powered off.

Riding Modes: The RAEV Bullet PRO/GT offers flexible riding experiences:

  • EV Mode: To enter EV mode, press and hold the ON button. After power-off, adjust gears (1-3) using the Instrument ± Key and pull the speed thumb shifter.
  • Assistant Mode: Press and hold ON. After power-on, adjust gears (1-3) using the Instrument ± Key, and step on the pedal for more than half a cycle.
  • Manual Riding Mode: Press and hold ON. After power-on, adjust the gear to 0 using the Instrument ± Key, and step on the pedal. The maximum speeds for each gear are specified: 12mph for gear 1, 20mph for gear 2, and 28mph for gear 3.

Instrument Key Functions: The LCD display provides critical information and controls:

  • ON/OFF: Press and hold for more than 2 seconds to turn on or off the power. A short press in startup state switches displayed information among total distance, trip distance, riding time, output power, maximum speed, and average speed.
  • + Key: Press and hold for 2 seconds to turn on the instrument backlight and headlamp. Press and hold again for 2 seconds to turn off the headlamp. Short presses of ± switch between assistance gears (0-3). Gear 1 indicates the instrument is on, while gear 0 signifies parking mode with no motor output.

Gearbox Use: The gearbox allows for different riding strengths and speeds:

  • Gear 1-3 (Relaxed): Slow speed, ideal for starting.
  • Gear 4-5 (Moderate): Medium speed.
  • Gear 6-7 (Laboursome): Fast speed. For acceleration, it's recommended to start at a low speed and switch to a higher gear as speed increases. When driving uphill, lower gears help maintain speed. When driving with the wind, higher gears can be used. Gear adjustments should be based on personal habit.

Maintenance Features

General Maintenance: The electric bicycle should be regularly maintained, with complex parts taken care of by a repair shop. It is recommended to maintain the bicycle twice.

Battery Care:

  • Storage: If the battery is unused for more than a month, remove it from the bicycle and charge it to a half-saturated state (1.5-2 hours after full discharge). Store it in a cool, dry place (optimal temperature 5°C-25°C) and recharge for about 3 hours every two months.
  • Environment: Store the battery and charger in a clean, dry, well-ventilated place, away from corrosive substances, ignition, and heat sources (at least 2m), and combustibles. They should be disconnected.
  • Capacity: The optimal storage capacity is 50%. Storing the battery below 10% or above 90% for extended periods can irreversibly decrease its capacity.
  • Safety: Do not store the battery in a high place to prevent damage from drops.

Safety Precautions:

  • Modifications: Do not refit the electric bicycle without permission.
  • Load: Do not overload the bicycle (maximum load 100kg).
  • Lending: Do not lend the bicycle to inexperienced riders.
  • Rider Safety: Wear a helmet and be cautious while driving. Do not hold the handlebar with one hand or no hands.
  • Weather: Slow down in rainy and snowy weather as braking distance increases. Avoid riding in stormy or severe weather.
  • Traffic Lights: Adjust to gear 0 or hold the brake when waiting at traffic lights to prevent accidental starts.
  • Parking: Do not park the electric bicycle in lobbies, escape stairs, passages, or emergency exits of buildings.
  • Charging Safety: Do not charge or park the electric bicycle in residential buildings. Keep it away from combustibles during charging and avoid prolonged charging.
  • Battery Handling: Use and maintain batteries correctly. Do not dismantle waste batteries; recycle them through designated departments.
  • Charger: Understand safe use methods and warning signs of the charger. Ensure the charger matches the battery.
  • Cleaning: Do not wash the electric bicycle with water to prevent wetting internal electronic parts and circuits.
  • Adjustments: When adjusting the handlebar or saddle, ensure safety signs on the handlebar pipe and saddle pipe are not exposed.
  • Reflector: Check if the reflector is damaged or polluted before driving.
  • Tire Pressure: Ensure tire pressure is normal (refer to the tire label).
  • Brakes: Check if front and rear brakes work normally.
  • Handlebars and Wheels: Ensure handlebars and front/rear wheels are tightened.

Gearbox Maintenance:

  • Shifting: Avoid changing speed over multiple gears simultaneously to prevent damage. Shift gear by gear (no more than two gears at a time).
  • Reverse Operation: Do not run the drive system in reverse when the bicycle is stopped or going downhill, as this can damage the system and cause accidents.
  • Malfunctions: If the gearbox malfunctions or gears are inaccurate, have it maintained at a repair shop promptly to prevent further damage.
