1.4 SPECIAL RECOMMENDATIONS AND
TOLERANCES
What should I do so that my Raidillon watch works perfectly for many years?
• Magnetic elds: avoid placing your watch on speakers or a refrigera-
tor, as these appliances generate strong magnetic fields which could
damage your watch mechanism.
• Sea swimming: always rinse your watch with fresh water after swimming.
Leather, buffalo and alligator straps aren’t designed to resist to water.
• Impacts: thermal and mechanical shocks should be avoided!
• Crown screwing: If need be, always carefully screw the crown in order to
prevent the mechanism to be exposed to water and dust.
• Cleaning: metallic bracelets and cases should be cleaned using a tooth-
brush and soapy water, and dried with a soft cloth.
• Chemical products: avoid direct contact with solvents, detergents, per-
fumes, cosmetic products etc. as they could damage the strap, the case
and the gaskets.
• Temperatures: avoid exposing your watch to extreme temperatures
(above 60°C or 140° F and below 0° C or 32° F) or to extreme variations.
• Chronograph pushbuttons: in order to prevent water from penetrating
the mechanism, don’t manipulate chronograph pushbuttons underwater.
