CAUTIONS FOR CONNECTION
Switch the power amplifier off before connecting the
speaker system.
The nominal input impedance of the WS-A500 or WS-A550
is 8 ohms.
Make sure that the total connected loudspeaker load
impedance is within the design capabilities of the power
amplifier.
To minimize resistive losses in speaker cable, use the
largest practical wire for speaker connections. The in-line
speaker connector is capable of 4 conductors up to AWG
12,
but in no cases should wire smaller than AWG
18
be
used.
Absolute polarity for Full Range and Bi-Amp operation
gives outward diaphragm motion (increased pressure)
when a positive-going electrical signal is polarized to the
(+) input terminal, for all connections.
Always disconnect the input connector before switching
(Bi-Amp/Full
Range) mode selector switch.
When two or more speakers are to be used in the same
room,
be sure to match the polarity.
PRECAUTIONS
Speakers may be damaged by the following non-program
signals even when operating within safe limits of the speaker
system:
1.
Shock noise when system equipment is powered up after
the amplifier(s), or powered down before the
amplifiers).
2.
Shock noise resulting from the connection or
disconnection of cables while the system is powered up.
3. The use of microphone without appropriate pop-filters,
windscreens, etc.
4.
Switching microphone phantom power on or off with levels
turned up.
5. Continuous operation at very low frequencies when
distortion Is evident in the speakers.
Set the level of the sub-woofers in conjunction with the
main speakers to be sure that proper balance is achieved.
Subwoofers can be damaged by excessive input level or
improper crossover frequency.
If any abnormal sound is generated from the system, cut
off power immediately to avoid damage.
Read all Operating Instructions carefully, including the
Subwoofer Processor.

This system is comprised of four WS-A500 loudspeaker
systems and eight WS-A550 subwoofers. It is powered by
three power amplifiers, each loaded to 4 ohms per channel.
The VLF amplifiers are operated in the dual mono mode. The
WS-SP2A should be set (by qualified service personnel) for
WS-A80/WS-A550 signal processing.
