Part S – Install Steam Control Package
Step S1 – Install relay
At this point, you should have already installed all of the wiring required for a basic PID
installation. You should have completed steps A1 through A16.
Your machine should still be unplugged, and you should not have completed the step of
running your wires through the base of the machine in the pump compartment.
Locate the small “ice cube” relay in your kit. It will already have 4 wires connected to it
on the proper terminals. Also locate the small adhesive pad included with the steam
package.
Use the adhesive pad to fasten the relay above and slightly to the right of the SSR that
you have already installed. See photo below.
The tabs on the relay should be pointing to the left as shown.
Step S2 – Remove front cover
Unless you have remarkable skills and long fingers, it will be necessary to partially
remove the front cover from Silvia in order to gain access to the steam switch. First,
locate and remove the screw that secures the base panel of the front cover to the brass
brew group. See photo below:
