6 Trying Out the Instrument
This chapter introduces the most important functions and settings of the
R&S ZNLE step by step. The complete description of the functionality and its
usage is given in the R&S ZNLE User Manual. Basic instrument operation is
described in Chapter 7, "Operating the Instrument", on page 61.

6.1 Performing Measurements
This chapter takes you through a sample session with a R&S ZNLE network ana-
lyzer and describes basic operation tasks.
Safety considerations
Before starting any measurement on your network analyzer, please note the
instructions given in Chapter 4.1, "Putting into Operation", on page 11.
Use the "S-Parameter Wizard" accessible via [Meas] > "S-Params" > "S-
Param Wizard..." to measure S-parameters in a straightforward way. The
wizard provides a series of dialogs where you can select the test setup,
screen configuration and measurement parameters, configure the essential
channel settings and perform a guided calibration.
