LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS
• Stackcharcoalbriqueesorwoodintoapyramid-shapedpileontopofthecharcoalgrate.
Werecommendusing2pounds(approximately30briquees)tostartyourre,adding
moreasneeded.
• Ifusingstarteruid,saturatethecharcoalbriqueeswithstarteruidandletitsoakinfor
approximately5minutes.Ifusingachimneystarter,electricstarter,orothertypeofre
starter,lightyourreaccordingtothemanufacturer’sinstrucons.
• Aerallowingthestarteruidtoproperlysoakin,lightthepileofbriqueesinseveral
locaonstoensureanevenburn.Leavelidopenunlbriqueesarefullylit.Failuretodo
socouldtrapfumesfromcharcoalstarteruidingrillandmayresultinaashrewhenlid
isopened.
• Neveraddcharcoalstarteruidtohotorwarmcoalsasashbacksmayoccurcausing
injury.
• Youarereadytobegincookingwhenthepileofbriqueesashesoverandproducesared
glow(approximately10-15minutes).
• Dependingonyourcookingmethod,eitherleavethebriqueesinapileorspreadevenly
acrossthecharcoalgrateusingalonghandletool.ALWAYSusecauonwhenhandlinghot
coals.
DIRECT GRILLING
Grillingdirectlyoverhotcoalsisidealforsearinginjuicesandgrillingfoodrequiringless
than25minutesofgrillingme,suchassteaks,hamburgers,hotdogs,chickenparts,
vegetablesandfruit.
• Openthelidandremovecookinggrid.
• Loadandlightcharcoalper“LighngInstrucons”secon.
• Whilewearinghandprotecon,carefullyspreadhotcoalsevenlyacrosscharcoalgridwith
alonghandletool.
• Whilewearinghandproteconreplacethecookinggrid,closethelidandallowthe
charcoalgrilltopreheat.
• Whilewearinghandproteconopenthelidandplacefoodontocookinggridsdirectly
abovethehotcoalswithalonghandletool.
• Withlidopenorclosed,cookunldesiredinternalfoodtemperaturesareachieved.
• Whennished,allowcharcoaltoburnoutbyclosinglidandallvents.
