C hapter 2 Installation
Overview
This chapter contains instructions for mounting the Raven TM-1 Tilt Module and routing the GPS signal to and
from the sensor. Examples of system diagrams for widely used systems are included in Chapter 5, System
Diagrams.
Requirements
Refer to the following requirements when selecting a mounting location for the TM-1 Tilt Module:
• The TM-1 Tilt Module is not weather proof. Mount the sensor inside of the vehicle cab.
• The unit is designed to be mounted on a flat surface parallel with the ground with the ports facing up.
• Mount the unit with the orientation arrow pointing in the direction of forward vehicle travel.
Note: If necessary, the TM-1 may be mounted with the ports facing down. If the TM-1 is mounted upside
down, the orientation arrow must point in the opposite direction of forward travel.
• The TM-1 contains sensitive measurement sensors. Avoid mounting the unit anywhere where it may be
kicked or jarred during normal operation, such as near pedals or under vehicle components that move.
• The TM-1 Tilt Module should be mounted securely using steel bolts or screws through the mounting
bracket.
