Fuel Tank - Drain Water & Sediment
The fuel fill neck (1) is located on the engine hood near the
rear of the C120R. To fill the tank when it is low, remove
the fuel cap cover by removing the pin and lifting up. Slowly
remove the fuel filler cap (2). Insert the fuel slowly once the
engine has had sufficient time to cool.
To drain the fuel tank and remove water or sediment: the
fuel tank drain plug (3) is located at the rear of the RH track
behind a plate secured by four 3/4" head bolts. Remove the
four bolts to expose the drain plug and position a suitable
container large enough to contain the fuel in the tank. Allow
the remaining fuel, water and sediment to drain and then
reinstall the plug and cover
Fuel Filter - Change
Change the fuel filter (4) as described in the Engine
Maintenance Manual.
Fuel System Water Separator -
Check /Drain
Water is heavier than diesel fuel and will settle to the bottom
of the bowl and will appear different in color. WITH THE
ENGINE OFF, drain the water by opening the bottom drain
valve (5) off of the secondary fuel filter. Allowing all water to
escape into a container. Close the drain valve when all water
has been removed. Refer to the Engine Maintenance Manual.
Fuel System Water Separator - Change
Element
Element replacement frequency is determined by the
contamination level in fuels. Fuel flow to the engine becomes
restricted as the element gradually plugs with contaminants,
resulting in noticeable power loss and/or hard starting. When
any one occurs, change the element as soon as possible.
Always carry an extra replacement element as one tankful of
contaminated fuel can plug a fuel filter.
Maintenance
DIESEL FUEL IS COMBUSTIBLE. DO NOT SPILL
FUEL ON THE ENGINE. LET THE ENGINE COOL
BEFORE REFILLING. DO NOT SMOKE OR ALLOW
ANY HOT OBJECTS NEARBY WHEN REFUELING.
