OperationOperation
While in Operation
Know how to shut the machine off in an emergency.
Warm up the engine and the hydraulic oil before operating
the machine.
Only operate the machine while you are in the seat. The
seat belt must be fastened and the operator restraint bar
must be pulled down while you operate the machine.
Only operate the controls while the engine is running.
While you operate the machine slowly in an open
area, check for proper operation of all controls and all
protective devices.
Before you move the machine, you must be satisfied
that no one will be endangered.
Do not allow riders on the machine.
Any needed repairs that will affect the safe and efficient
operation of the machine should be carried out as soon
as possible.
Carry attachments as closely as possible to ground level.
Do not go close to the edge of a cliff, an excavation or
an overhang.
If the machine begins to sideslip downward on a grade,
immediately remove the load and turn the machine
downhill.
Avoid any conditions that can lead to tipping the machine.
The machine can tip when you work on hills, banks or
slopes. Also, the machine can tip when you cross ditches,
ridges or other unexpected obstructions.
Avoid operating the machine across the slope. When
possible, operate the machine up the slope and down
the slope.
Maintain control of the machine. Do not overload the
machine beyond the machine capacity.
Be sure that the hitches and the towing devices are
adequate.
Only connect the trailer equipment to a draw bar or a hitch.
Never straddle a wire rope cable. Never allow other
personnel to straddle a wire rope cable.
Before you maneuver the machine, make sure that no
personnel are between the machine and the trailing
equipment. Block up the hitch of the trailing equipment in
order to align the hitch with the draw bar. Maneuver the
machine. Connect the machine to the trailing equipment.
Know the maximum dimensions of your machine.
Always keep the Rollover Protective Structure (ROPS)
installed during machine operation.
Never exceed the maximum ROPS rating.
Always keep body parts (arms, legs, etc.) inside the
cab of the crawler.
When using an attachment that may throw objects or
debris, such as a forestry mower, do not roll the mower
so that the cutting teeth are exposed and facing the
operator. Always close the lexan door while operating.
Operating on Slopes
The crawler should not be operated on slopes that are steeper
than 35°. While this may not cause a loss of oil pressure,
it can still cause a lack of lubrication of the main bearings.
Engine damage will result.
NOTE: A 35° slope is equivalent to a 63% grade. A constant
grade of 63% represents a 63’ change in elevation across
a horizontal distance of 100’.
Machine Parking
1. Move the direction/speed control lever (LH joystick) to
its center position and release.
2. Move the throttle to SLOW.
3. Lower all attachments to the ground.
4. Let the engine operate at low idle for five minutes to
allow the turbo time to cool down.
5. Turn the key switch to OFF to stop the engine.
6. Remove the key.
7. Release the seat belt buckle
8. If the machine is being stored or the operator is utilizing
the Master Disconnect Switch, wait 4 minutes to activate
