Thepowercablecanbeextendedforlongercablerunsbetween
theVCM100andyourvessel’sDCdistributionpanelorbattery
isolatorswitch.
Ifyouneedtoextendthepowercable,useasplashproofjunction
box.Thejunctionboxshouldprovideaterminalstripwithsufcient
spaceforpowerconnections.Theterminalstripshouldbea
minimumof30Ampratingforpowercores.Itisessentialthatboth
powercoresandthescreen(drain)areconnectedandthatthe
connectionisofverylowresistanceasconsiderablepowerpasses
throughthisconnection.
Thefollowingtableprovidesrecommendedtotalpowercablelengths
andgauges.Theseguresrelatetothemaximumdistanceofpower
cablesfromthebatteryisolatorswitchorDCdistributionpaneltothe
VCM100.Exceedingtheselengthsmaycauseunreliableoperation.
