To turn on your RCA Camcorder, ensure the POWER switch is set to CAMERA or VCR. The power indicator should light up. If you're using a battery, it may need recharging. If you're using an AC adapter/charger, confirm it's properly plugged into a working outlet.

      Carmen MckenzieSep 3, 2025
If the date and/or time are being recorded on your RCA Camcorder tapes, remove them from the viewfinder when recording, as displays are recorded on tape whenever they appear in the viewfinder. If AUTO DATE is selected with the AE dial in AUTO, the date is automatically recorded when you start recording or change the cassette. Also, the clock lithium cell battery might need replacing, or the date or time might need to be set.

If the rechargeable battery of your RCA Camcorder runs down sooner than expected, completely drain the battery's power and then fully recharge it, especially if it hasn't been used for a while. Note that battery run times are measured during continuous recording, and the camcorder consumes power even in record-pause and zoom modes.
