l Subject was too far from camcorder.
l If the dew indicator (

) flashes in the viewfinder, there
is moisture in the camcorder. Wait until this indicator no
longer appears before operating the camcorder.
l Subject is dark or behind glass. Auto-focus may not
work under these conditions. See pages 34-35.
l Subject is not in center of viewfinder or two subjects are
at different distances. Focus manually. See pages 34-35.
l
Lens is smudged, and image appears unfocused.
l Eyepiece focus control is misadjusted.
l The small BRZGHT and
CONTRAST
controls on the
bottom of the viewfinder control brightness and contrast
of the viewfinder. These controls are set at the factory
and should require no adjustment. If the brightness or
contrast of the viewfinder ever does require adjustment,
carefully remove the small plastic cover and use a plastic
screwdriver. Make the adjustments with caution to
prevent damaging the miniature controls. Replace the
plastic cover.
l Try adjusting white balance. Seepage 37.
l Title is recorded whenever it appears in viewfinder.
Press DISPLAY to remove it from viewfinder.

l Displays will be recorded on tape whenever they appear
in the viewfinder. Press DISPLAY to remove them from
viewfinder when recording. See pages 30-31.
l When AUTO DATE or auto date titler mode is selected,
display will automatically be recorded when you begin
recording or change the cassette. Seepages 30-31.
