Function Description

The RCA RPJ402 is a portable projector designed for home entertainment, capable of projecting images onto a wall or screen. The projector features Bluetooth connectivity, allowing it to pair with wireless speakers or soundbars for enhanced audio. It includes a built-in rechargeable lithium battery, offering portability and usage without a constant power connection for a duration of 2.5-3 hours on a full charge. The device is equipped with multiple input options, including two HDMI ports, USB, Micro SD card, AV, and Audio Out, enabling connection to a wide range of devices such as laptops, DVD players, Blu-ray players, Chromecast, and TV Sticks.

Usage Features

Powering On and Off:

To turn on the projector, first ensure the power switch at the bottom is in the "ON" position. If plugged into the DC jack, LED light 2 will be red, indicating charging. Once fully charged, it turns green. If the LED light 3 is blue, it signifies low power, and the unit should be charged immediately. Press the power button on the unit, and LED light 1 will turn green. The projector screen will appear after 5 seconds. For battery playback, ensure the battery is fully charged, which typically takes over 5 hours in off mode. To turn off, press the power button, then the power switch to "OFF," and finally unplug the power adapter. Always turn off the projector before unplugging to prevent damage.

Placement and Viewing Options:

The projector offers flexible viewing options, allowing projection from a front table, front ceiling, rear table, or rear ceiling. For rear projection, a special screen (not included) is required. When placing the projector, it's recommended to position it in front of the center of the screen for optimal results. For ceiling installation, a projector mount (not included) is necessary. Users should ensure the ceiling structure can support the projector's weight and the mount, seeking professional advice if unsure.

Image Adjustment:

The projector allows for vertical location adjustment using a knob (ANGLE ADJ. knob) to fine-tune the display angle. Focus adjustment is done by rotating the lens focus wheel until a clear picture is achieved. Keystone correction can be performed via the remote control by accessing the 'Option' menu, selecting 'Keystone Correction,' and using the up/down keys to adjust. The digital zoom feature (0-10) is also available through the remote.

Input Source Selection:

Upon powering on, the projector displays an input source selection screen. Users can choose between AV, HDMI1, HDMI2, or Media Player inputs by pressing the "Source" button on the projector's touch panel or the remote control.

Multimedia Playback:

For multimedia playback, insert a USB drive or Micro SD card into the corresponding slots. Then, select "Media Player" as the input source and navigate to "Video," "Music," or "Picture" to access desired content.

Connecting Devices:

• HDMI Devices: Connect laptops, DVD players, Blu-ray players, Chromecast, or TV Sticks to either HDMI 1 or HDMI 2 ports. Select the corresponding HDMI input source.
• AV Devices: Connect devices with an AV interface using an AV cable (not included). The AV cable typically has yellow for video, white for left audio, and red for right audio.
• Audio Devices: Connect headphones or wired audio systems using a 3.5mm jack (not included) to the Audio Out port.

Bluetooth Playback:

Bluetooth is off by default. To use Bluetooth, enable it on the external speakers or soundbar first. Then, access the projector's 'OPTIONS' menu, select 'Bluetooth,' and turn it "On." Press "OK" to scan for devices. Once devices are shown, select the desired device and press "OK" to connect. The projector can automatically reconnect to the last paired Bluetooth speaker if the speaker is powered on first.

Menu Options:

The projector features a comprehensive menu system accessible by pressing the menu button on the remote or unit.

• Menu 1.0 (Picture Settings): Adjust Picture Mode (Vivid, User, Soft, Standard), Contrast, Brightness, Color, Sharpness, Color Temperature (Warm, Cool, Medium), Aspect Ratio (16:9, 4:3, Auto), and Noise Reduction (Off, Low, Middle, High, Default).
• Menu 2.0 (Sound Settings): Adjust Sound Mode (Music, Movie, User, Sports, Standard), Treble, Bass, Balance, and turn Surround Sound ON or OFF.
• Menu 3.0 (Option Settings): Select OSD Language, manage Bluetooth (ON/OFF), Restore Factory Default, Panel Flip Rotate (Front, Rear Ceiling, F/ Ceiling, Rear), Keystone correction (0~+-22), Digital Zoom (0~10), and view device INFO (Model, SN, RCA, SW Ver, LOGO).
• Menu 4.0 (Time Settings): Set Clock (Day, Month, Year, Hour, Minutes), Off Timer, On Timer, Sleep Timer (Off, 10min, 20min, 30 min, 60min, 90min, 120min, 180min, 240min), and Auto Sleep (Never, 4 hour, 6 hour, 8 hour).

Maintenance Features

General Care:

• Use only the included AC power cable and accessories specified by the manufacturer.
• The projector generates heat during operation; ensure ventilation openings are not blocked to prevent overheating.
• Avoid looking directly into the projector lens when it's on, as it can cause serious eye damage. Do not touch the lens.
• Clean the lens only with a dry cloth.
• Protect the device from rain, moisture, direct sunlight, extreme heat, large temperature fluctuations, and impacts.
• Do not attempt self-repairs; this voids the warranty. Contact the seller for technical support if problems arise.

Battery Care:

• Remove batteries from the remote control if not used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
• Ensure batteries are installed correctly, observing polarity markings.
• Use only the same or equivalent type of batteries.
• Do not expose batteries to excessive heat, fire, or attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
• Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries (alkaline, carbon-zinc, rechargeable).

• Adjusting brightness/sharpness: Access Picture Mode settings via the remote control. For non-professionals, using default values is recommended.
