Overview

This document serves as a product guide for the RCA RPJ280 HD Projector, providing essential information for its safe operation, setup, and maintenance.

Function Description

The RCA RPJ280 is an HD projector designed for dark viewing environments, offering a high-definition projection experience. It supports various input sources, including HDMI, USB, and Micro SD cards, making it versatile for connecting to different devices such as laptops, DVD players, Blu-ray players, Chromecast, and TV sticks. The projector is capable of displaying movies, music, photos, and AV content. It features a built-in speaker for audio output and also allows for connection to external headphones or wired audio systems via a 3.5mm jack. The projector's display image can be flipped 180 degrees, and it includes keystone correction to adjust distorted images into a rectangular or square shape.

Usage Features

The projector can be installed in four different configurations: Front Table, Front Ceiling, Rear Table, and Rear Ceiling. For ceiling installations, a projector mount is required, and it's crucial to ensure the ceiling structure can support the weight. To minimize image distortion, it is recommended to position the projector as close to the center of the screen as possible.

The projector can be controlled using either the physical buttons on the unit or the included remote control.

  • Power On/Off: The projector is powered on by pressing the power button once (indicator light turns white after 5 seconds) and turned off by pressing it twice.
  • Navigation: Both the remote and the projector's control panel feature navigation arrows and an "OK" button for selecting options within the on-screen menus.
  • Volume Control: The remote has dedicated buttons for adjusting the audio level (VOL+/VOL-).
  • Mute: The remote includes a mute button to silence the volume.
  • Home Menu: A "Home" button on the remote allows quick access to the main menu.

  • Image Adjustment: The projector features an adjusting knob for vertical location and a focusing ring for sharpening the image. Keystone correction is also available to correct image distortion caused by angled projection.
  • Media Playback: When playing multimedia content from USB or Micro SD cards, a sub-menu appears on the screen, offering functions like pause, previous/next track, stop, repeat, and information display. For photo playback, options like rotate and zoom are available. For music, mute and go-to functions are provided. For movies, set A/B repeat and go-to functions are included.
  • HDMI Connectivity: The projector has three HDMI input ports (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, and HDMI 3). HDMI 3 is a male plug input designed for streaming sticks and can be used with the USB charging port for power supply.
