Overview

The REDDY SE is a smart robot companion designed for the whole family, offering remote control, family communication, pet interaction, security functions, and equipment sharing.

Technical Specifications

The REDDY SE robot boasts a 1080P definition for its camera, with an angle of D: 118°, H: 98.5°, V: 62.5°. It supports infrared auto-charging and operates on both 2.4G and 5G Wi-Fi networks. Its movement speed ranges from 20cm/s to 60cm/s. The robot's dimensions are W 95mm x H 89.2mm x L 95mm, and it weighs 282g ± 20g. It is equipped with a 2500mAH battery, which charges at DC-5V/2A. A full charge takes 2-3 hours, providing 4-7 hours of battery endurance. The device supports AVI and JPG file formats and can expand its storage up to 256GB via an SD card. It complies with the GB8898-2011 executive standard.

Usage Features

Device Connection and Setup: To begin, register in the REDDY app and tap the '+' icon to initiate a connection. From the pop-up menu, select "Add new device" and then choose "REDDY SE" from the available device cards. Place the REDDY SE on its charging dock and wait for all indicators to light up. If the indicators do not light up, reboot the robot's settings by pressing and holding the Reset button for 5 seconds, then turn the robot on by pressing the Reset button for 2 seconds. Connect to your Wi-Fi network (2.4GHz or 5GHz is supported, 5GHz is recommended), enter the password, and tap "Next." Finally, scan the QR code displayed on your phone screen using the robot's camera, holding it about 15cm away. Once the Wi-Fi and camera indicators turn off, the pairing is successful, and the device is ready for use.

Interface Instructions: The REDDY SE is controlled via a mobile app interface. The interface includes controls for:

  • Battery: Displays the current battery level.
  • Mic: Activates the microphone.
  • Volume: Adjusts the device's volume.
  • Take photo/video: Captures images or records videos.
  • Definition: Adjusts video quality.
  • Remote control: Enables manual control of the robot.
  • Setting: Accesses device settings.
  • Switch to night Vision mode: Toggles night vision.
  • Multi-user sharing: Allows sharing control of the device with other users.
  • Accelerator: Controls the robot's speed.
  • Direction: Controls the robot's movement (forward, left, backward, right).
  • Run forward: Moves the robot forward.
  • Auto-docking: Commands the robot to return to its charging dock.
  • Shake: Activates a shaking motion.
  • Rotate: Commands the robot to rotate.

General Instructions: The robot features several indicators:

  • Wi-Fi connection indicator: Shows Wi-Fi status.
  • Camera indicator: Shows camera status.
  • Device status indicator: Shows overall device status.
  • Mic: Microphone.
  • Slot card: SD card slot.
  • SD-card: SD card.
  • Speaker: Device speaker.
  • Charging contact point: For charging.
  • Reset button: Used for power on/off and resetting.
  • Detachable screw: For maintenance access.

To power on/off or reset the REDDY SE, use the smaller end of the pin to press the Reset button.

  • Power ON: Press and hold RESET for 2 seconds, or place the robot on the charging dock.
  • Power OFF: Click RESET twice.
  • REBOOT: Click RESET once when REDDY is on.
  • RESET (factory settings): Press and hold RESET for 5 seconds until you hear "REDDY."

Indicator Light Meanings:

  • Red light: Charging.
  • Green light: Fully charged.
  • Lights off: No power.

Charging the Robot: For optimal daily use, it is recommended to keep REDDY on its charging dock to ensure it is always online. Place the charging dock against a wall, ensuring there are no obstacles within 0.6 meters to the right/left and 2 meters in front of it.

Maintenance Features

Troubleshooting:

  • Robot fails to turn on: Accumulator is discharged. Put the robot onto the docking station connected to the electric network.
  • Robot is not charging: Bad contact with the docking station or the docking station is not connected to the electric network. Connect the docking station to the electric network and clean the electric contacts if dirty.
  • Robot is not moving: Wheels are blocked or dirty. Clean the wheel module.
  • Robot fails to connect to Wi-Fi: Either the router is connected to the wrong account. Remove the robot from the connected devices list in the account it was connected to.
  • Indicator glows orange: Accumulator is about to discharge. Wait while the robot returns to the docking station and gets fully charged, or put it onto the docking station.
  • Indicator flashes red: Accumulator is discharged. Put the robot onto the docking station connected to the electric network.
  • Indicator flashes yellow: Mobile device pairing error. Restart the robot and the router. Pair the robot with the application if necessary.
  • Indicator slowly flashes blue and white: The robot is paired with the mobile device, but network connection is lost. Check the network password. Restart the robot and the router. Put the robot next to the router to reestablish connection.
  • Indicator slowly flashes pink and violet: Network connection is OK, but the robot is not connected, or the SSID is not found. Check network availability. If the mobile device is connected normally, check Internet settings. The router might be in the black list (blocked); change the router mode if needed.
  • SD card is not found or cannot be read: No SD card in the slot, or bad contact. Check whether the SD card is installed and clean contacts if dirty.

Precautions:

  • REDDY is not waterproof; keep it away from water.
  • Do not use the "forward" function when REDDY is near stairs.
  • The charger is not a toy; children must have adult supervision.
  • Children under 3 years old must have adult supervision when near the device.

Warranty Liability: The product comes with a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase or manufacture (if the purchase date cannot be determined). The warranty covers manufacturing defects and requires the product to be used according to the manual, not repaired or disassembled, and to be complete. It does not cover normal wear and tear, industrial/commercial use, or damage from improper operation, negligence, accidents, foreign objects, liquids, insects, rodents, electrical cord damage, incorrect voltage, unauthorized repairs, or altered/illegible serial numbers. Natural wear and tear of units, mechanisms, accessories, accumulators, and batteries are not covered. Periodic maintenance is also excluded from the warranty. The service life is 2 years from purchase, provided proper usage and adherence to technical standards. The manufacturing date (year and month) can be found on the bottom of the device, opposite the D/C symbols.
