1. Choose two new, clean (free of knots) planks of Douglas Fir. For
Kits 9517500 and 9517700, use 2 x 8s or 2 x 10s (1-1/2" x 7-1/2" or
1-1/2" x 9-1/2"). For additional strength use oak planks.
2. Before installing your ramp tops it is important to determine the
proper length for your ramp in FIG 2.
3. Measure vertical distance from bed of pickup truck, or top step,
to the ground. FIG 1.
4. Locate the height of the pickup truck bed or loading surface
to the nearest inch in FIG 2. Right hand column indicates the
proper plank length for your height measurement.
