Why is my Regency Fireplace Products Pro Indoor Fireplace plugging with creosote?
    • D
      Danny JensenAug 16, 2025
Creosote plugging can occur if you're burning wet, pitchy wood, or using large loads of small diameter wood with the combustor in the operating position without light-off ever occurring. To resolve this, burn dried seasoned wood and ensure the combustor has light-off before closing the bypass damper. Additionally, after a hot fire has been started, you may try burning off the soot or creosote accumulation by putting the combustor in a partially open and partially closed position.

What to do if my Regency Fireplace Products Indoor Fireplace has fly-ash build-up?
    • C
      Cynthia GloverAug 19, 2025
If you notice fly-ash build-up, masking, or plugging in your Regency Fireplace Products Indoor Fireplace, it could be due to several reasons. First, the combustor may not have maintained light-off temperature. In this case, brush the cold combustor with a soft bristled brush or vacuum it lightly. Another cause might be burning materials that produce a lot of char and fly-ash. Avoid burning cardboard, gift wrap, or garbage, and follow the instructions for proper light-off. Finally, closing the bypass too soon may be the cause.

How to fix masking (soot) on my Regency Fireplace Products Pro Indoor Fireplace?
    • M
      Melissa HouseAug 22, 2025
Soot masking can occur if the combustor hasn't maintained a light-off. To address this, place the combustor in a partially open position after a hot fire has been started to burn off the soot accumulation. Alternatively, if you've been burning coal, the masking might be due to a sulfur-based compound coating the catalyst. In this case, revert to burning wood and fire the combustor to elevated temperatures for one hour.

What causes crumbling substrate in Regency Fireplace Products Indoor Fireplace?
    • R
      rmitchellAug 26, 2025
Crumbling substrate can be caused by extreme thermal shock, refueling with wet wood, or high draft. To prevent this, bypass the combustor when the stove is running, use seasoned, dried wood, and ensure you do not exceed .06" of water draft. Consider installing a manual damper and draft gauge or a barometric damper.
