Why my Remington Trimmer engine will not start?
    • S
      Scott ChavezJul 31, 2025
If your Remington Trimmer engine won't start, several factors could be at play. First, ensure the fuel tank isn't empty and is filled with properly mixed fuel. If that's not the issue, try pressing the primer bulb 10 times until fuel is visible. The engine might be flooded; if so, move the choke lever to Position 3, press the throttle lockout, squeeze the throttle control, and pull the starter rope until the engine starts. Old or improperly mixed fuel (over 30 days old) can also be a culprit, so drain the tank and add fresh fuel. Lastly, a fouled spark plug can prevent starting, so consider replacing it.

How to fix a Remington RM2700 cutting head that will not advance line?
    • T
      Tonya PhillipsAug 4, 2025
If the cutting head on your Remington Trimmer won't advance the line, there are several possible reasons. The cutting head might be bound with grass, so stop the engine and clean it. The cutting head could be out of line, requiring you to refill it with new line. The inner reel might be bound up, so clean the inner reel and outer spool. The cutting head could be dirty, so open it and remove any welded sections. The line might be welded, so rewind it. The line could be twisted, so stop the unit, push the bump knob, and pull the line until 4 inches (102 mm) extends outside the cutting head. Also, there might not be enough line extended, so clean and thoroughly dry the cutting head.

    • A
      Andrea JonesAug 8, 2025
If the cutting line on your Remington Trimmer advances uncontrollably, it might be due to oil, cleaner, or lubricant present in the cutting head. To resolve this, clean and thoroughly dry the cutting head.

Why does my Remington RM2700 Trimmer engine lack power or stalls?
    • A
      Andrea MendozaAug 12, 2025
If your Remington Trimmer engine lacks power or stalls, the issue might stem from a few common causes. Old or improperly mixed fuel (older than 30 days) is a frequent culprit; drain the fuel tank and refill it with fresh, properly mixed fuel. A dirty air filter can also restrict engine performance, so clean or replace the air filter. Lastly, a fouled spark plug could be the problem, requiring a replacement.

Why Remington RM2700 engine will not accelerate?
    • C
      Cheryl HicksAug 16, 2025
If your Remington Trimmer engine won't accelerate, consider these potential causes: old or improperly mixed fuel (over 30 days old) can hinder performance, so drain the fuel tank and add fresh, properly mixed fuel. A cutting head bound with grass can also prevent acceleration; stop the engine and clean the cutting head. Also, a dirty air filter restricts airflow, so clean or replace the air filter.

What to do if my Remington Trimmer engine will not idle?
    • B
      Brittany HollandAug 21, 2025
If your Remington Trimmer engine won't idle, several factors could be responsible. A dirty air filter can disrupt the engine's idle, so clean or replace it. Old or improperly mixed fuel (over 30 days old) can also cause idling issues; drain the fuel tank and add fresh, properly mixed fuel. Finally, the idle speed might be incorrectly set, requiring an adjustment.

Why does my Remington RM2700 engine stop while in use?
    • R
      Rebecca ClarkAug 26, 2025
If your Remington Trimmer engine stops while in use, it may be due to the engine overspeed protection being engaged. Allow the engine to cool down for 10 minutes before attempting to restart the unit.
