Make sure the unit has enough space and isn't too close to walls or other objects. Also, ensure windows and doors are closed to minimize thermal load. Verify that the operating mode is set to 'Cooling' (AUTO, HI, MED, or LO). If the timer function is on, switch it off by pressing the On/Off button again. Try lowering the temperature setting. Finally, if there was a recent power surge due to lightning, switch the unit off, wait 5 minutes, and restart it.
