STAGE 5 Drivers Position
TYRE PRESSURE
Safety comes first!
The driver is alerted if there is insufficient tyre pressure (deflated or punctured tyre, etc.). TYRE
PRESSURE WARNING
The tyre pressure loss alert system is a direct system with a pressure sensor on the valves, which periodically measures
tyre pressure during driving.
The orange indicator light 1 comes on as a warning.
RESETTING TYRE PRESSURE
Tell the customer that after any change in the pressure of one of the four tyres (namely, after use of the tyre inflation kit,
over-inflating for motorway driving, deflating (if pressure too high), after a wheel change or swapping tyres), the system must
always be reset after the reset procedure to prevent erratic alert messages.
Perform this reference value resetting procedure together with the customer:
By successively and briefly pressing the button 3 or 4, select the “TYRE PRESSURE REACHED” function on the display 2.
Long press (3 seconds) one of the buttons 3 or 4 to begin the initialisation. The set message displayed confirms that the
request has been received.
The reset is complete after driving at over 40km/h for several minutes.
Tell your customers that the tyre pressure must be reset when the engine is cold.
DISPLAY
Explain the various display configurations of the orange indicator light:
The display 2 on the dashboard informs about any inflation errors (tyre deflated, punctured, etc.).
Deflated or punctured: Indicator light on
The system has detected that the tyre pressure is significantly lower
(-20%) than the reference value (saved).
Tell the customer that, depending on the situation, this indicator light
may be accompanied by the message “READJUST TIRE PRESSURE” or
PUNCTURE”. This message is accompanied by the indicator light .
The four tyres must be re-inflated and checked, then
“ACQUISITION” resetting.
Indicator light flashes for 70 sec then steady
This indicator light is accompanied by the message “CHECK TYRE
SENSORS”. This message is accompanied by the indicator light
.
They indicate that at least one of the wheels is not fitted with sensors
(spare wheel for example). In other cases, an electronic diagnostic
needs to be conducted as a Renault after-sales service.
It is possible that a sudden loss of tyre pressure (e.g. burst tyre) may not be detected by the system.
