The JobMax™ Power Base serves as the core unit for various interchangeable JobMax™ accessory heads. Its primary function is to provide oscillating power to these heads, enabling them to perform diverse tasks. The tool features a variable speed trigger, allowing users to adjust the oscillation rate to match the demands of the application, from delicate sanding to aggressive cutting. An LED light illuminates the work area, enhancing visibility in dimly lit spaces. Usage Features

Accessory Head Installation: To install an accessory head, align the head with the power base and push it on until it clicks into place. The head can be rotated to various angles (up to 90 degrees) relative to the power base, offering flexibility for working in tight or awkward spaces. This rotation is achieved by depressing the selector of rotation switch and turning the head to the desired position.
Battery Installation and Removal: To install a battery, slide it into the battery port on the power base until it latches securely. To remove, depress the battery release latches and slide the battery out.
Operation: The tool is activated by depressing the variable speed trigger. The further the trigger is depressed, the higher the oscillation speed. For continuous operation, some models may feature a lock-on button. Always ensure the accessory head is securely attached and the work area is clear before starting the tool.

General Maintenance: Keep the tool clean and free from dirt, dust, grease, and oil. Use only mild soap and a damp cloth for cleaning. Avoid using solvents, as they can damage plastic parts.
Gear Cover Replacement: If the gear cover becomes damaged or worn, it can be replaced. This involves removing screws, detaching the old cover, and installing a new one, ensuring proper alignment and sealing. Regular inspection of the gear cover for cracks or damage is recommended.
Battery Care: Always use RIDGID 18V batteries and chargers. Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposing batteries to extreme temperatures or moisture. Do not store batteries in locations where temperatures can exceed 10°C (50°F) or drop below -18°C (0°F), or in vehicles.
Accessory Head Maintenance: Regularly inspect accessory heads for wear and damage. Replace worn or dull blades, sanding pads, or other accessories to maintain cutting efficiency and safety.
Personal Safety: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection (ANSI Z87.1 compliant), hearing protection, and gloves, when operating the tool. Ensure the work area is well-lit and clear of obstructions. Disconnect the battery pack before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the tool.
