3. Execute R&S Trusted Disk Setup X.X.X-VS-NfD.msi.
Note: If you do a silent installation and do not want the workstation to restart auto-
matically, you need to add the parameter REBOOT=ReallySuppress.
4. To complete the update, restart the workstation.
Note: A restart is required. Please note that shutting down the workstation might
only put it to hybrid shutdown, i.e. the workstation is not really restarted at its next
startup. To make sure that the workstation is restarted properly, do one of the fol-
lowing:
Confirm the prompt to restart your workstation after the update.
Manually restart the workstation.
Disable hybrid shutdown in your Windows settings.
You have updated R&S Trusted Disk.
6.2 Configuring the PIN policy
You can require users to set up a complex PIN to identify themselves during pre-boot
authentication. You can configure the requirements in terms of the PIN length and the
type of characters to use, i.e. digits, letters and special characters.
Please note that configuring the PIN policy does not affect the PIN policy of R&S Trus-
ted Identity Manager. Both products must be configured independently.
1. Execute the registry editor regedit.exe.
2. Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Sirrix AG\
TrustedDisk.
