6.4 Stealth mode
R&S Trusted Disk's stealth mode hides the existence of an R&S Trusted Disk encryp-
ted system. For this, two Windows installations exist on one workstation ‒ an encryp-
ted Windows installation and an unencrypted Windows installation.
Boot scenarios in stealth mode:

If a smart card is connected, the encrypted system starts (after a successful pre-
boot authentication).
●
If no smart card is connected, the non-encrypted system starts. In this scenario, the
pre-boot authentication is not displayed, i.e. the existence of an encrypted system
is not disclosed.
Stealth mode is supported on the following systems:

6.4.1.1 Preparing stealth mode
Windows installation
1. Boot the workstation from a Windows installation medium.
2. Start a new installation of Windows.
3. Delete all existing partitions.
4. Create a partition with [x] GB.
Note: Leave enough space for the second Windows installation.

5. Select the first Windows partition.
6. Install Windows.
7. After restarting the workstation, boot from a Windows installation medium.
