MIDI COMPUTER INTERFACE
This socket allows vou to connect
your E-38 to an MS-DOS PC or toa
Macintosh, thereby eliminating the
need of a dedicated MIDI interface
for your computer.
Use only connection cables supplied
by your Roland Dealer.
Connecting your E-38 to a MS-DOS,
Macintosh or NEC computers, you
will have access, using the proper
program, to the large Roland
collection of MIDI File songs. You
can also record your own songs into
the computer and then playback it
using the fantastic sounds of your E-
38.
The COMPUTER INTERFACE
selector (4) allows you to select one
of the 4 operating modes.
NOTE:
The operating mode must be
selected while the instrument is off.
1) MIDI
Select this position when you want
to connect your E-38 to other MIDI
devices using its MIDI IN/OUT
sockets.
2) RS232C-2
Select this position to connect your
E-38 to the RS-232 socket of your
MS-DOS PC. Transmission speed is
38400 Baud (Standard DOS).
3) RS232C-1
Select this position to connect your
E-38 to the RS-232 socket of your
MS-DOS PC. Transmission speed is
31250 Baud (PC-NEC).
4) RS 422
Select this position to connect your
E-38 to the Modem or Printer port
of your Macintosh.

COMPUTER-SCHNITTSTELLE
Über diese Buchse können Sie den
E-38 mit einem MS-DOS PC oder
einem Macintosh verbinden, wobei
sich eine MIDl-Schnittstelle für den
Rechner erübrigt.
Verwenden Sie ausschließlich die bei
Ihrem Roland-Fachhändler
erhältlichen Anschlußkabel.
Wenn Sie Ihren E-38 mit einem MS-
DOS, Macintosh-oder NEC-Rechner
verbiden, können Sie ihn für die
Wiedergabe der von Roland
hergestellten und/oder vertriebenen
Standard MIDI Files verwenden.
Außerdem können Sie mit dem E-38
dann professionell aufnehmen und
diese Aufzeichnungen auch
abspielen.
Mit dem COMPUTER INTERFACE-
Wahlschalter (4) auf der Rückseite
können Sie jeweils eine von vier
möglichen Betriebsarten anwählen.
ANMERKUNG:
Die gewünschte Betriebsart muß bei
ausgeschaltetem E-38 eingestellt
werden.
1) MIDI
Wählen Sie diese Position, wenn Sie
den E-38 mit anderen MIDI-
Instrumenten (also via MIDI)
verbinden möchten.
2) RS232C-2
Wahlen Sie diese Position, wenn Sie
den Е-38 mit dem RS-232-Anschluß
eines MS-DOS PCs verbinden
möchten. Die
Ubertragungsgeschwindigkeit betragt
38.400 Baud (DOS-Normalwert).
3) RS232C-1
Wählen Sie diese Position, wenn Sie
Ihren E-38 mit einem NEC PC
verbinden möchten. In diesem Fall
betrigt die
Ubertragungsgeschwindigkeit 31.250
Baud (NEC-Geschwindigkeit).
4) RS 422
Wahlen Sie diese Position, wenn Sie
den E-38 mit dem Modem- oder
DruckeranschluB eines Macintosh
verbinden méchten.

Cette prise vous permet de relier

Si votre E-38 est relié à un ordinateur
MS-DOS, Macintosh, NEC vous avez
accés, avec un programme adapté, a
toutes les fantastiques chansons en
format MIDI FILE de ROLAND
(optionnelles).
Vous pouvez aussi enregistrer vos
chansons directement dans
l'ordinateur et les écouter, après,
avec les fantastiques sonorités de
votre E-38.
N'utiliser que les cables que vous
pouvez obtenir chez votre revendeur
de confiance Roland.
Le sélecteur du mode de
l'INTERFACE COMPUTER (4), vous
permet de sélectionner un des 4
modes de fonctionnement suivants:

Toute sélection des differents modes
de fonctionnement doit étre effectuée
ESCLUSIVEMENT à instrument
éteint.
1) MIDI
Utiliser cette position quand vous
voulez relier votre E-38 à d'autres
appareils MIDI, avec les prises MIDI
IN/OUT (1).
2) RS232C-2
Utiliser cette position pour relier
votre E-38 à un PC (MC-DOS), avec
les prises RS-232 à la vitesse de
38400 Baud (STANDARD DOS).
3) RS232C-1
Utiliser cette position pour relier
votre E-38 à un PC (MS-DOS), avec
les prises RS-232 à la vitesse de
31250 Baud (PC-NEC);
4) RS 422
Utiliser cette position pour relier
votre E-38 au Macintosh, avec les
prises standard Modem ou Printer.
