2. Realtime Pattern Recording

a
rhythm
pattern-
Next we will record
the rhythm
part
on track 3. Although
it is
possible
to record the rhythm
part
using
the same methods as
explained
in
the
previous pages,
in
this example
we will create
several rhythm
patterns
ol
1-2 measures
each, and
then arrange them in
a rhythm
track.
Since the
rhythm
track in
most
songs consists of a limited
number
of
patterns
which are
repeated
many
times
(with
occasional
fill-in
patterns
of 4 or
B
measures),
patterns
are an
efficient way
to create
a rhythm track.

Tracks in which
data
is recorded
directly
(as
in
the
previous
pagesf

called

tracks,'. Tracks in
which
patterns
have
been arranged are called
"pattern

hear the
