General Safety Rules
Read and understand all instructions in both the Spiral Saw
TM
power
tool and Zip Mate Attachment Owner’s Manuals before using. Failure to follow all
instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious personal injury.
DO NOT - UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES - USE ANY NON-ROTO ZIP WHEELS,
BLADES, DISCS OR PRODUCTS WITH THIS ATTACHMENT. Using a product rated
at a lower RPM or of a different size or manufacturer may cause serious injury.
* The Zip Mate Attachment is designed for use with the Roto Zip SCS01, SCS01LE
SCS02, Revolution, Rebel, and Renegade Spiral Saw power tools. It is
not recommended for use with the RTM01 RotoMite (including the RTM01
Drywall Cutter, RTM01 Type 1, RTM01 Type 2, and RM1 Type 1), Roto Zip
Ream Machine, Solaris, or any other non Roto Zip power tool.
When referencing a “wheel” in the General Safety Rules, it should be
understood to mean any type of wheel, disc, blade, or pad designed specifically
for the Zip Mate Attachment.
* Always use proper wheel guard, footplate, and auxiliary handle with this
machine. The guard must always be securely attached to the tool and positioned
for maximum safety, so the least amount of wheel is exposed on the operators side
of the tool. A guard helps protect operator from broken wheel fragments. The
guard foot and auxiliary handle provide additional guarding, stability and control in
cut-off applications.
* Abrasive cut-off wheels, sanding discs, and back-up pads must have a
maximum safe operating speed of 20,000 RPM or higher. Wheels or Discs
running over their rated RPM can fly apart and cause injury.
* Hold tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where
the wheels or discs may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a
“live” wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool “live” and shock the operator.
* Disconnect tool from power source before changing accessories. Accidental start-ups
may occur if tool is plugged in (or has battery connected) while changing accessories.
