semi-c irc le in front of th e key to bru sh fi ngers or cau se untidy work.
L ett ers are inlaid ri g ht thr ough the keys and ca nn ot rub off; th ey
sta y cl ea n, too, because they are exactly flu sh with key s urfac e.
To t ype capitals or upper case characters pr ess e ith er Shift
Key at th e e xt re me ends of th e lowest ba nk of le tt er keys, holding it
down while you use th e le tt er key.
To t ype capitals or upper case characters in sequence
press the S hift Lock Key, ju st above th e le ft S hift Key, which holds
th e segme nt in th e upper c ase until you pr ess e ith er Shift Key.

pr oach the right mar gin, y our warnin g be ll will rin g. A fte r you hav e
typ ed seve ral mor e chara ct ers, th e line lock will take e ff e ct , locking
th e type bars to pr eve nt you fr om ty ping one character over anoth er.
To type past the right margin line lock, or to type with in
y
our l eft hand margin, press th e Margin Release Key.

lower ha lf s of th e ribbon. To ty pe us ing
the lower, or re d, half of a two -c olor rib-
bon, move the lever to th e red dot . To
use
th e upper, or black, half of the rib-
bon, move
th e lever to the bl ack dot . To
mak e th e ribbon inope rativ e for stencil
writing, move the lever to th e whit e dot.
The ribbon reverses itself automati-
cally wh en th e end of the ribbon is
re ached. Howev e r, it may be reversed at
any time by moving the Ribbon Reverse
Lever (2) to it s oppos it e position.
When purchasing new ribbons,
be sure to
get a ribbon made
