We thank you for your purchase, and please contact us for any assistance that you may require. You have just purchased one of the
best Motorcycle LED multicolor kits in the industry. Follow these instructions and you will be proud of the end results.
What’s in the box?
(4) 36-LED strips w/ 6” connector wire on both ends
(14) 9-LED strips w/ 6” connector wire
(2) 9-LED strips w/ 72” connector wire
(4) 1 to 5 connectors
(9) 1 to 2 Y connectors
(9) M to F 18extensions
(9) M to F 36extensions
(1) 16 Function Wireless Remote Control Module w/ (2) Key FOBs
In-Line fuse, zip ties, alcohol pads, silicone sealant, 3M Adhesion Promoter
Let’s get started….
1. Never work on your bike when it’s hot! Make sure your bike is cool and parked on a flat surface.
2. Locate your battery. Remove your seat and disconnect the negative (-) cable of your battery to avoid safety hazards. Make sure
the negative cable does not touch or contact the positive (+) terminal of the battery.
WARNING
DO NOT ALLOW an exposed negative wire to touch the metal frame of your bike. This will create a negative short circuit. If this
happens, the lights will illuminate very dim, and you can’t turn the lights off. This is not a malfunction of the remote-control box.
Locate and repair the negative short circuit and your lights will work as described. If you cut any strips, you must seal the cut
end with silicone sealant or you will have a negative short circuit.
DO NOT mount the LED strips to any component of the motorcycle that produces heat or is part of the system at engine
temperature. DO NOT mount directly on the engine, oil tank, oil lines, coolant system, etc.

Overview

This document describes the 288-LED Multicolor Kit for motorcycles, designed to provide customizable lighting. The kit includes various LED strips, connectors, extensions, and a wireless remote-control system, allowing users to illuminate different parts of their bike with multiple colors and functions.

Function Description

The 288-LED Multicolor Kit is a comprehensive lighting system for motorcycles. It allows users to install LED strips on various parts of their bike, including the engine, frame, and wheels, to create a custom lighting effect. The system is controlled by a 16-function wireless remote-control module with two key FOBs, enabling users to turn the lights on/off, change colors, and adjust various lighting functions like fade, flashing, and strobe. The kit is designed for easy installation, with an emphasis on proper surface preparation and connection to ensure durability and optimal performance.

The kit is divided into three main installation areas:

  • Engine Kit: Primarily uses 36-LED and 9-LED strips to illuminate the engine headers and underside of the gas tank.
  • Road Coverage Kit: Utilizes 36-LED strips mounted at a 45-degree angle on the bottom of the frame to shine down on the highway.
  • Front & Rear Wheel Kit: Employs 9-LED strips with 72" connector wires for the front wheel (inner side of fork tubes) and 9-LED strips with 6" connector wires for the rear wheel (inner sides of frame or swing arm).

Important Technical Specifications

The kit includes a variety of components to facilitate installation and operation:

LED Strips:

  • (4) 36-LED strips with 6" connector wire on both ends.
  • (14) 9-LED strips with 6" connector wire.
  • (2) 9-LED strips with 72" connector wire (specifically for front wheel).

Connectors and Extensions:

  • (4) 1 to 5 connectors for expanding connections.
  • (9) 1 to 2 Y connectors for splitting connections.
  • (9) M to F 18" extensions.
  • (9) M to F 36" extensions.

Control System:

  • (1) 16 Function Wireless Remote Control Module with (2) Key FOBs.
  • DC12V Power input for the LED controller.
  • Brake Light ACC+ input for potential integration with the bike's brake light system.

Safety and Adhesion Components:

  • In-Line fuse (5A or smaller recommended) for circuit protection.
  • Zip ties for securing wires.
  • Alcohol pads for surface cleaning.
  • Silicone sealant for sealing cut LED strip ends.
  • 3M Adhesion Promoter to enhance tape adhesion.

Power Connection:

  • The Remote-Control Box connects to the battery: Black (Negative) wire to the negative terminal, Red (Positive) wire to one side of the in-line Fuse Holder, and the other side of the Fuse Holder to the positive terminal.

Usage Features

Customizable Lighting: The kit offers 16 different functions via the wireless remote, allowing users to select various colors, fade effects, flashing patterns, and strobe functions. The speed of fade, flashing, and strobe can also be adjusted.

Flexible Installation: LED strips can be cut in multiples of 3 LEDs, but only once, and the cut end must be sealed with silicone sealant to prevent short circuits and voiding the warranty. This flexibility allows for precise fitment on different motorcycle models.

Modular Design: The use of Y-connectors and 1 to 5 connectors allows for a modular setup, enabling users to connect multiple LED strips to a single output from the remote-control box, optimizing wire management.

Adhesion Promoter for Secure Mounting: The included 3M Adhesion Promoter is crucial for creating a permanent bond between the LED strips and the motorcycle surface. This ensures the strips remain securely in place, even under riding conditions.

Remote Control Operation: The wireless remote control provides convenient operation, allowing users to control the lights from a distance without needing to access the control module directly.

Maintenance Features

Surface Preparation: Proper cleaning of mounting surfaces with alcohol pads and application of 3M Adhesion Promoter are essential for the longevity of the adhesive bond. This is a critical step for preventing strips from detaching.

Sealing Cut Strips: If LED strips are cut, the exposed end must be sealed with the provided silicone sealant. Failure to do so can lead to a negative short circuit, dim lights, and potential damage to the remote-control module, also voiding the warranty.

Heat Management: It is explicitly warned not to mount LED strips on any component that produces heat or is part of the engine's temperature system (e.g., engine, oil tank, oil lines, coolant system). This prevents damage to the LEDs and ensures their lifespan.

Fuse Protection: The inclusion of an in-line fuse (5A or smaller) is mandatory for protecting the LED system and the motorcycle's electrical system from overcurrents. Connecting the LEDs directly to the battery without the fuse voids the warranty and poses a fire hazard.

Troubleshooting Short Circuits: The manual provides guidance on identifying and repairing negative short circuits, which can cause dim lights and prevent the remote from turning them off. This typically occurs if an exposed negative wire touches the bike's metal frame or if a cut strip end is not sealed.

Removal Instructions: If a light strip needs to be removed, a hair dryer/heat gun and a hard plastic card can be used to carefully pry it off. However, the 3M tape will not be reusable after removal.

Warranty Information: The product comes with a limited lifetime warranty for the original purchaser, covering defects in material or workmanship. However, the warranty is voided by improper handling, installation, corrosion, misuse, abuse, or failure to use the included 12V fuse. Physically damaged products are not eligible for replacement under warranty. An RMA authorization is required for all defective returns.
