What to do if Ryobi P631K1 motor runs but doesn't spray?
    • S
      Stephanie MorrowJul 29, 2025
If the motor seems to be running properly but the Ryobi paint sprayer isn’t spraying, the suction tube and filter might be loose or damaged, or the atomizer valve could be clogged or worn out. The material being sprayed might also be too thick, or the spray tip or intake filter could be plugged, or the piston worn. Reinstall or replace the suction tube and filter as needed. Clean or replace the atomizer valve. Follow the material manufacturer’s directions and thin the material if needed. Thoroughly clean the sprayer and, if necessary, replace the piston, using storage cleaning instructions.

Why is my Ryobi Paint Sprayer spitting?
    • M
      Mike ParkAug 2, 2025
If the sprayed material is spitting or globbing up, there are several potential causes. The paint container volume might be low, or the material being sprayed may be too thick. Also, the suction tube could be loose, the atomizer valve clogged or worn, or the spray tip or piston worn. Finally, paint that has been shaken can have air pockets. To resolve this, refill the paint container, thin the material as needed following the manufacturer's directions, reinstall the suction tube securely, and clean or replace the atomizer valve. You may also need to clean or replace the spray tip or piston. If the paint has been shaken, allow it to sit for about an hour to settle before trying again.

      Gregory GarciaAug 7, 2025
If paint or stain is leaking behind the spray tip of your Ryobi Paint Sprayer, the spray tip may be loose, or the atomizer valve could be worn or not positioned correctly. Try tightening the spray tip. If that doesn't work, replace or reposition the atomizer valve as needed.
